I was in Charlotte for a convention and came across this place on Google Maps. Glad I did. Excellent service and a great haircut from Nicole. You can also get a free drink afterwards at their bar. It’s a cool setup with very friendly staff.
They burned the back of my neck, the lines look super unprofessional and it took over two weeks to heal, NEVER going back. They did not fully refund me for this terrible haircut either. They also continued charging me for a membership fee that I did not use, I literally feel like I got scammed. Stay away!! **Response to your comment: I’m a very busy man and totally forgot to call and complain because I have a lot going on, I had this picture taken the day of the haircut (new picture with time stamp attached).
Friendly staff, good drinks, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. We grabbed an IPA and a Casamigos shot and ended up coming back after the Panthers game. The space is low-key but lively, and it’s a perfect spot to unwind without a haircut. Highly recommended.
Review: Scissors & Scotch Uptown Charlotte – A Mixed Bag of Service and Spirits I recently visited Scissors & Scotch in Uptown Charlotte for the first time, and the experience turned out to be quite the two-sided coin. On the service front, I have to give full marks. Despite my own late arrival, the staff were accommodating and flexible. My stylist, Kelly, was a standout: she adjusted the service tier to fit the time we had, and she absolutely nailed the personal touch. Kelly explained each step of the process and matched my vibe perfectly, whether that meant letting me doze off in the chair or chatting when I felt like it. On the service side, it was a solid five-star performance. Now, about the "Scotch" part of Scissors & Scotch—unfortunately, that’s where things fell flat. The selection was shockingly limited for a place that literally has "Scotch" in its name. The best they could offer was a handful of very basic bottles—think Johnny Walker Red, Glen Moray, and Monkey Shoulder—and when I asked for something slightly more premium, they didn’t have it. It was a huge letdown, especially since I was ready and willing to pay more for a quality pour. The staff at the bar, while friendly, didn’t seem knowledgeable about the spirits either. Overall, that aspect dropped my rating down to a three out of five. In summary, come for the excellent grooming service, but don’t set your heart on a top-shelf scotch experience. If the owners ever decide to live up to the name, I’d be thrilled to return and re-rate them.
Barber was kind but I was never shown back of my head. Went home to have my wife tell me that the barber didn’t blend it well. I then went to Uptown Cuts to get it fixed. See before and after pics. Very upset that they would allow their clients to walk out the shop like this. If it hadn’t been for my wife I would’ve shown up to the wedding looking like a fool!
