Felicia is a miracle worker! She helped my dog overcome her over reactivity and poor social skills around other dogs and taught her how to heel and obey us. She is patient and kind with our dog while also being firm and consistent. Plus she took our dog on outdoor adventures! We learned so much about dog behavior and managing it from her. I would 100% recommend her board and train program for behavior modification and training. Our dog loves her and so do we!

Shades of Blu is the only place I will bring my dog! Felicia is wonderful at what she does and helped my dog be confident and comfortable. He was very shy and sometimes aggressive, but Felicia helped us navigate that. We can bring him everywhere now that he is so well trained he gets to do so much more now!! We even bring him to board with her because we know he will be safe and well taken care of.

I cannot recommend Felicia and Shades of Blu enough! Felicia worked with my dogs for a 6 week board and train and it has made SUCH a difference! Now I can take them on walks, runs, to breweries and coffee shops without being stressed about having to manage them or being embarrassed by their reactivity. If you’re considering balanced training for your dog, it is absolutely worth the investment. Pictures included of my girls being well behaved in public because this definitely didn’t happen before training.

I would recommend Felicia and her training to anyone in need of dog training!! My pup entered her 5 week board and train program at 6 months old with a completely uncontrollable jumping problem, as well as just not being able to settle much at all. Felicia has taken her from a constant anxiety to be around to the most well mannered pup. We no longer have to worry about her jumping on my children, she is potty trained, and she has even begun service dog training. She knows how to stay calm, how to approach people, and is just a joy to be around. Felicia is incredibly professional and has been supportive in her work. She shows she truly cares about her clients and their pups. Photos and updates, check-ins, and just attention to detail and the dogs needs overall. Her training plans are curated to the needs of your dog, so you can rest assured that their needs will be met. You can see the love and respect their dogs she works with has for her as well! They light up as soon as they see her. I’m excited to continue to work with Felicia and see all the goals my pup can reach thanks to her! I am so grateful for Felicia! She is an extremely talented and knowledgeable trainer as well as an awesome human being. I came to her as a first time dog owner with a very energetic border collie puppy that I had no idea how to train. Not only did Felicia train my dog, but she also trained me how to be a good dog owner and handler. She was very honest and told me exactly what my dog needed. We did lessons and a 4 week board+train. We were out of the country during her board+train and it was a huge relief knowing that she was in a safe place where she was very well taken care of. We got updates on her progress every week along with photos and videos of her training. When she finished board+train she had advanced obedience and could walk in heel off leash!! Not to mention the complete change in her confidence! Before she was so skittish and scared of everything like loud noises, cars moving fast, and big crowds. Felicia boosted her confidence so much and then she showed us how to do it so that we could continue to work on it. Now we take her with us everywhere we go. She is so well behaved now and an absolute dream dog off leash. Training with Shades of Blu was the best decision we made. Felicia truly cares about helping you have a great relationship with your dog. She also gives you the opportunity to continue training after board+train though free groups classes! Group classes are so much fun and it is really nice to be around like minded individuals with well behaved dogs working together. She now offers training in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia.
