Great facility super nice staff amazingly managed as well as a good café space, Setting is some of the smoothest stuff you can find in Calgary, especially at the higher grades. I even left a previous Google review, asking for them to put more carabiners in the workout area and within a week they responded, saying they had ordered more carabiners!

A couple weeks ago my partner and I came to SoCal hoping to eat at the Approach for my birthday dinner. Come to find out, it has been shut down. This was very disappointing because the hours were still posted online on the CCC website and the sign for the Approach was still posted on the door. I love this place and the staff who operate it, but the communication about things like this could be improved quite a bit i.e. updating the website, social media posts, etc.. A guy came over to talk to us and said he would update the website however the hours are still posted and the section about the Approach is still up even though it has been shut down for over a month.

Such a nice facility. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere of SoCal feels very welcoming, this feeling really allowed a beginner like me feel at ease.

Visit: June 2025 The gym was a very nice facility, with a great layout. I love how the training boards are in the middle, in a very space-saving way, and the training area off to the side. A good variety of walls as well. The only thing I noticed was that the gym felt dirty. Without a shoe rack at the front of the gym, outdoor shoes seemed to be allowed everywhere in the gym, and most people wear their shoes in and put them under a bench. I also saw people in regular shoes climbing on the walls. After warm-up in the training area, my hands were black from the dirt. If it's the same in the winter, I can't imagine how dirty or muddy it would get in the gym. Otherwise it was a good gym and great experience!

Exceptional !! This is the funnest and also the most challenging place to master your skills. There are so many different climbing obstacles and courses there is literally something here for everyone from the beginner to the extreme climbers. Safe and very well planned out. They have an amazing shop also that holds a wide variety of specialized climbing shoes and other gear.. They also have the option if you don't have equipment you can rent. Here's the bonus... There is an incredible restaurant inside the facility called approach cafe and bar. Their menu is outstanding. They also are the only place in the area that offers an amazing Sunday brunch. Great prices. Please take a look at the menu that I've posted you'll be impressed by what they have to offer. It's also fun to sit here relax enjoy a meal and watch the climbers !! . Great addition to the area. Style for very courteous and professional and helpful. Thanks !! More .. Also I had a great coffee paired with a Boston cream donut, it was definitely the best Boston cream donut I've had in Calgary
