A great selection of wine and some cool beers too! Everyone here is always ready to help and recommend you something. I got lots of my Christmas shopping done here!
It makes me sad to leave a negative review of a business I used to love but unfortunately after it was bought by barrel blends it changed way too much and was no longer worth visiting. The beer and wine selection became abysmal especially for local breweries. The customer service wasn't great, you used to be greeted when you walked in the door by familiar faces and friendly people and now that's gone. I love supporting small local businesses but I've been very disappointed with Southside and no longer recommend them to others. Now we go to the craft beer cellars on Chippewa and it's a much better selection and experience.
Great little wine and spirit shop. Not only is this place a nice little neighborhood wine and spirit shop, but it's also a great place to meet up with friends and neighbors for a glass of wine, beer, or a cocktail, and some relaxed conversation. It's not exactly a bar, and it's more than just a shop. The selection is limited, but they carry a good variety of different wines and spirits. I don't particularly care for white wine (if I wanted grapefruit juice, is just but grapefruit juice!), but a Roero Arneis is a nice accompaniment to Italian seafood dishes, and few smaller shops keep any on hand. Hell, not many larger wine and liquor "superstores" keep any in stock (I'm looking at you, R*****l). However, SouthSide happened to have one.
My first experience here was simply amazing!! I was greeted by Ken and he was absolutely phenomenal. He educated me on the different wine selections by going in depth of the history. The customer service he and Julie displayed was perfect! I look forward to visiting again! The store has a great selection of wine and spirits and I love that they support local vendors!
New small wine and spirits shop in South City! You can tell that the owners have a heart for supporting local business and helping the community. Very friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable to help you find the right wine for you. They also have a variety of other spirits from local and out of state distilleries. They offer a membership program and a ton of events and tastings. As a first time visit, I will be back. Highly recommend! Very reasonably pricing!
