Was treated to this experience by a special someone and I cannot say enough good things! Melissa my RMT gave the best hot stone massage I’ve ever had. She was super attentive and provided feedback on how I can improve on some pain with daily exercises. The spa was clean and the staff was very attentive.
For a $300 massage at a spa, and Ritz Carlton nonetheless, I was surprised by such a disappointing experience. The service wasn't great and the amenities looked quite old and dated. The only redeeming factor was that I enjoyed my massage. I filled out the check in form online prior to my appointment to expedite the check in process, and showed up 30 minutes prior to my appointment time to ensure I had time to check in, change, and settle in. However, after checking in, I was told to sit and wait for someone to come get me. I ended up waiting 20 minutes and my appointment started late but ended at the same time. No staff member checked in on me, offered water, or anything and the ones at reception were all occupied. Seeing multiple people, especially couples, check in after me and were greeted and escorted into the facilities felt so odd. And only me and a single lady with the same appointment time were left waiting at reception for so long. So clearly this isn't a one time mishap. I was rushed into my appointment and after that I was not given a tour of the facilities at all, had I not met a friend there, I would have not known where anything was. No one came by to check in and see if we wanted to order any food or drinks either. In terms of the amenities, aside from the lounge area, everything else was appalling. The hot tub was lukewarm, the women's showers were quite dated, clogged, and showing signs of rust. Basic amenities like a hair tie, hair brush, facial moisturizer were all missing, which is odd for a place that boasts Clarins facials. And not to mention the pool is shared with hotel guests... I wanted to have a relaxing day at the spa, not go to the pool and see a bunch of kids screaming and running around the pool. Lastly, to apologize for the check in mishap, I was offered a few glasses of prosecco and a box of chocolates, but really how does that all measure up to $300 (which includes a mandatory 18% tip btw). All in all, for a name like Ritz Carlton, the experience did not live up to its name. I'm happy to pay for a luxury experience but this was far from it.
From the moment I walked through the doors, the Ritz-Carlton Spa delivered an experience that went beyond anything I expected. I jokingly told my doctor I needed “help,” so naturally, I checked myself into the best institution in Toronto — the Ritz-Carlton. Before I even arrived, 'Zaid' set the tone for the entire experience. He spent time with me on the phone the day before, walking through every treatment option, answering every question with patience, and helping me find the perfect combination for what I needed that day. His kindness, warmth, and genuine care made me feel taken care of long before I stepped foot inside the spa. When I arrived in person, that same energy continued — he greeted me with the same attentiveness and made the entire process seamless from start to finish. They welcomed me immediately and took me straight into a couple’s treatment room. 'Grace' performed the mud wrap with so much care and attention, wrapping me up and making the entire experience feel therapeutic and grounding. Afterwards, 'Benoit' — who joined the team in May and is a physiotherapist — gave me one of the best deep-tissue massages I’ve ever had. He has a rare ability to understand the body intuitively and truly change how you feel. I finished my visit with time in the steam room and sauna, and left the spa feeling lighter, calmer, and genuinely transformed. The entire experience, from the hospitality to the treatment quality, was exceptional. If you’re looking for a place that heals both the body and the spirit, the Ritz-Carlton Spa is exactly that. I walked in overwhelmed and walked out renewed.
I was on the fence about visiting this spa because of the reviews and I’m very particular about massage techniques and the service I’ll be receiving for the price point but pulled the trigger because a solo spa day was long overdue. I went on a Sunday which was probably not a good move for traffic. I ended up going around noon and it was fine until a party of 10+ people arrived. The atmosphere went from calm and relaxing to a noisy social lounge. I was only in the lounge for half an hour until my RMT arrived for my treatment. The 90 minute massage was mediocre and felt like it was not worth it. No technique and did not relieve my targeted areas. I spent almost 500 which would have easily given me x5 really effective massages at my regular spa! The facilities were okay, staff was constantly cleaning and replenishing towels, water, etc. which was fine but the traffic in the women’s area took away from being a place of rest and relaxation. The pools is on the opposite side of the main are which is awkward to access. Hot tub had hair in it and was off putting. 3 stars for not achieving my intended “relaxation” goal.
Wow! I came here for a little spa day as a birthday celebration and it was absolutely amazing. From the moment I stepped in, I felt welcomed and relaxed. I arrived a bit earlier to enjoy the amenities (it was really quiet and felt like I had the spa to myself) before my treatment and I'm glad I did as it did get a bit busier in the late afternoon. I was fully pampered and my RMT Natalie was wonderful! They offered me a complimentary drink (yes, please!) and gave me some lovely birthday gifts. The spa is on the pricier side but I really enjoyed my time there and it's perfect for a celebration! Edited to add: Lorna is such a sweet lady! She gave my tour of the facility and was very helpful during my time there.
