My son’s last minute birthday cake was so delicious. And I’m very picky about my cakes. Had a orthodontist appt next door, forgot to order his cake in advanced but thank goodness Sugar Plum Bakery was right there with a small birthday cake ready to take out the door; fresh, cute and traditional. Customer service is truly wonderful; person helping me asked if I wanted it to say anything; was impressed that she was able to beautifully write, “Happy Birthday Jeremy” , on a 6” round cake.
This is my second time visiting. Great customer service and smiling faces. The first time they were all out of donuts. So I tried cupcakes and some bars. They were dry. So I thought I would give it another chance. Today I ordered donuts. Get home and they are extremely dry. They must have been made at the beginning of the week. They are way overpriced. 11 donuts were $25 and the quality was so disappointing. So bad, I wanted to return them, but its not worth driving all the way back over there again. I think the reviews are good because of what they stand for not the quality of products.
This bakery is a must if you are anywhere near Virginia Beach. What don't you want is the question. We are talking donuts with cherry pie filling on top, lemon filled, brownies, cookies, key lime bars and a full array of delicious cakes. I could easily bring a pallet and camp out without being the least embarrassed. Oh, and the donut holes are magic because they dissappear before your eyes.
I’m so happy to say Sugar Plum Bakery is just as amazing as I remember it being almost 20 years ago when I last lived here! The desserts are still absolutely delicious, and I love that they’re a small nonprofit bakery offering training and employment to people with disabilities. Not only are they making incredible treats, but they’re also doing something truly meaningful for the community. Delicious desserts and amazing people—what more could you ask for?
Like I said in a another review, My wife and I we on a run for sweets so our first stop of about three was Sugar Plum which my wife had been talking about for a few weeks. we got the about 40 mins before they closed. it looks very nice inside. They have plenty of choice bakery goods from petit fours to cookies and donuts. we ending up getting a mini carrot cake a petit four, and a couple donuts. all very good, but of all the good we got that carrot cake was my fave, can't wait to go back and try again
