Absolutely outstanding food! I’d say food instead of just sushi because there is so much more here than just sushi. Best grilled octopus appetizer I think I’ve ever had or top two for sure. Perfectly cooked, tender, not rubbery, and full of flavor. Sushi was such high-quality and the rolls came out so fast. You might wait a little bit longer for non-sushi items but I promise it’s worth it. The cocktails were also top notch and impeccable service. Our server knew the menu very well and even showed us some pictures on this phone with a couple of items that he recommended strongly, but were difficult to envision. Met two of the owners who had such promising vision for the future of this establishment, including expansion. Come with your friends, come with your family, or come by yourself. Just come!

My wife and I dined at Sushi Rose for the first time on December 13 to celebrate my birthday. It was a choice that we are extremely glad we made. The ambiance is very upscale, but also comfortable and inviting. My wife is a fan of Chilean Sea Bass and I am a fan of traditional sushi. We were both delighted with the outcome, agreeing it was one of the best meals we have ever had! As soon as Eli put down the wasabi and ginger root with a presentation of its own, I could tell very good things were ahead. We have never experienced the “Nikkei” fusion of Japanese cuisine with Peruvian, but it works so very well!! The photos show not only the perfectly prepared sea bass, but the Scottish Salmon Roll served with the Sushi Rose Ceviche and the Lomo Saltado Roll as an apt follower. To further the fusion, I found that I liked dipping the Lomo’s Peruvian beef stir-fry into some wasabi-laced soy sauce! My birthday celebration dessert was the Flourless Chocolate Tort. It was superb. We also added the Bomba Tartufo which was a “dessert adventure” with a hidden cherry to be found amidst the layers of chocolate and vanilla gelato coated in a chocolate shell and surrounded delicately by torched meringue and crushed pistachio with a delicious blend of raspberry and caramel syrups. From the start, we knew the night would be special after server Eli’s helpful review of the main dishes along with owner Jay’s added advice along the way. From Katie’s warm welcome upon our arrival, it was easy to believe that the entire staff wanted us to have an incredible dinner. And we did. Kudos. We will be back!

Let's start by stating the facts: the food was absolutely delicious and original! The combination of flavors from peruvian and Japanese cousins are righ on spot, they actually make it work creating a delicious and visually stunning dish, resulting in a joyful culinary experience. I have to praise my waiter Eli for the great recommendations on the dishes too. This restaurant is not just a hidden Gem in Winston-Salem but in the entire state of North Carolina. If you are looking for a delicious experience then this is the place for you!

We went here for our anniversary tonight and we were blown away by the service, the quality of the food, and the trendy atmosphere. I am a huge sushi lover and this place has everything you could want. We also enjoyed the Peruvian flare, it was an amazing way to experience a dinner, outside of the mundane. Dining here was a memorable experience, and we hope that the restaurant remains popular in the downtown, Winston-Salem area. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, we were gifted a complimentary dessert (rich chocolate perfection) which was delicious as well, even with a sparking flare on top. This a very classy establishment, and a hidden gem for us. We will be back and we hope that the restaurant continues to do great things for the locals of Winston-Salem. Nicely done!!!

We had heard great things about this hidden gem but it always seemed to be busy when we would be out here. Today we were leaving Bailey Park after attending the Latin Festival and as we were walking by we decided to see if we could get in. Luckily for us it was not that busy(was already 8pm). As soon as you walk in the bar is what stands out, it is beautiful and elegant. They have tables as well as lounge sofas that make the place cozy and elegant. The lights are dimmed low so it feels romantic and perfect for a date night. A very relaxing laid back environment. We started with the Grilled Pulpo(Octupus) with chimichurri. The presentation was beautiful but most importantly was the perfectly cooked octupus, it was perfect not under or over, placed on top of a delicate black olive sauce, daps of marinated sweet potato puréed and sautéed cherry tomatoes for garnish. We also had the Crispy Sushi which was filled with spicy tuna tartare and spicy mayo with jalapeños on top. For main course we got the Sushi Rose Ceviche. I’m use to the way it’s made in El Salvador. I must say the Peruvian way is different and all the elements work well together. Amberjack fish, marinated red onion, chocolate corn and diced sweet potatoes. You got all those flavors in every spoon full. I had not had this awesome style ceviche since NY and it did not disappoint. I also got the Kinoko Roll, was worried I would not like it but boy was I wrong. It has shiitake mushroom, cucumber, avocado, with an ahi cilantro sauce. Surprisingly well put together and a great combination of ingredients. Had never seen this offered in any sushi restaurant and I have been to well over 60! Prices are a bit high but it’s worth it. The staff is very attentive and stay on top of everything. Wish I had the money to come here more often but I definitely will be coming every chance I get!
