Noodles were overcooked but somehow clumped together. Broth was tasteless, pork minimal Was edible but only go here if tou dont know what decent ramen is and want to pay big dollars for something similar to $2 noodles. Pork Gyoza taste like vinegar and steamed ones came out cold. If the staff ( majority ) aussie and Indian had personalities and asked how the meal was i would have happily give some feedback.
Nice place , busy you need to book before you go lucky we got a table and their gives us 45 mins to eat and leave for the next persons, food was very nice, friendly staff and very quick to move your empty plates away, plenty room tables spread out more, very hard to park right outside , but overall nice place.
Food 5 stars Service 5 stars ADDIT Long term customer of Susuru and my, how they have grown! From a humble bright yellow and cartoon ramen bar to an izakaya with softer wooden tones selling to supermarkets, susuru has somehow managed to stay true to its ethos of great ramen. My favourite is always their collaboration with the other local gem, Sapphire Indian. Their curry ramens are truly one of a kind, outstanding and exactly hits the spot when you're wanting curry but also some ramen with broth. The chicken is always amazing 👏 Only downside is the SATURDAY AND SUNDAY SURCHARGE... I can understand sunday but Saturday seems a bit of a stretch and 15% is not small! Review from 3 years prior: This will be a great spot on a rainy winters day for a nice warm broth of ramen noodles. The chicken wasn't too bad either!
After being recommended here by some friends that rave over the place, I can agree that the food was great but outside of that I was greatly disappointed. We had booked a table and were unfortunately running late (i’m sure this happens a lot, life gets in the way- and parking is extremely difficult in that area at dinner time too) We all tried phoning in advance from 5:30pm, as soon as they open. I myself tried calling 6 times, and another member of our group also tried calling 5+ times in attempt to alert them of our late arrival. Once we finally ordered and received our food, it took quite a while to come out to the table, which in most cases is fine- however 5-10 minutes after getting the food somebody came over and told us we only had 10 minutes left and we had to leave. Now for most people this is probably okay, but for myself, somebody who has had major stomach surgery recently and cannot eat quickly- i was only able to eat about 6 mouthfuls of my food before we were made to leave. Had somebody of answered the phone on one of the numerous times we had called, we may have been able to extend our reservation. There were no people lined up at the door waiting for our table, there were plenty of spare tables inside at the time we were leaving, and among our group we spent well over $250 whilst we were there and had we of had more time we potentially would have spent more money within the business. Overall i’m quite disappointed with the service. What I was able to eat of the food was delicious, would I return though? probably not for the amount of money spent and the treatment provided.
Susuru has become our go to for Japanese. Their food is always fresh and flavourful. We’ve made our way through most of the menu and there’s nothing we wouldn’t order again. However I can’t go past their ramen, it’s like a warm hug.
