They got me in and out and did a wonderful job quickly and efficiently. Didn't have a lot of time and was a walk-in and so I appreciated the ability to get what I needed done that day.
I attended a black-tie wedding event and had my makeup done by Gezella and my hair styled by Mamoom. Let me tell you, this was an exceptional experience. In all my makeup and hair styling past experiences, this was the best I’ve ever had 10/10! Gezella and Mamoom are incredible artists. I received numerous compliments about my makeup and hairstyle at the wedding. They are truly amazing. I highly recommend them. Thank you!
I’m so upset. I spent 110 (10 dollar tip) on a blow out with a deep conditioner and I asked for the barrel curling iron as the add on. I don’t think he read that in the notes. I showed him the blowout I wanted in a picture. It was loose voluminous with soft waves. But he used a thin curling iron. I didn’t realize it cuz I was on my phone playing a game which was my mistake. It wasn’t until he got to the front pieces that I looked up and was in shock. I left with tight curls instead of a blowout. I kept pulling on it to try and make it fall but the ends are so curly. I have Medium to think long hair. I’m just so upset. I went today to treat myself and I don’t have 110 dollars but I felt like I needed the pick me up. It wasn’t a good experience . He kept telling me it would fall in 20/30 mins because I have fine hair and it has not. ( trust me I do not have fine hair) .
Discriminatory practices!! They cancel curly hair appointments or charge significantly more. I stopped going here a while back after they decided to charge people with curly hair twice as much as people with straight hair. Some of the stylists have shared that they have never learned how to do hair that is not straight, but still want to advertise that they do and charge those customers more for the “extra time”. I finally decided to book another appointment and try them again since it had been well over a year. I booked with them on Vagaro, but for curly hair they have something called XL hair?! They use descriptions like “XL” to describe curly or thick hair and some services charge $100 for straight hair vs $180 for curly. When booking, you have to agree to be charged if you book the wrong service, despite their lists of services are weirdly written. I called and spoke with Evelyn for about 10 minutes and we discussed which services would be right for me and she insisted I try them again. I learned they have changed owners twice in the past year and a half. So it’s under different management than when I was last there. So we booked services for $110 for an “XL” blowout, an additional charge to use a flat iron… and a quick trim. And she said to bring my own K18. I also learned that apparently after a year and a half their services lists are still incorrect and what you book as customer online might be a different price then what they will charge you the day of your appointment. Then this morning, the day of the appointment with Alexianna, I received text message stating that they are canceling my appointment for this afternoon! Apparently, because they wanted to charge me an additional $10. Rather than call me, they cancel appointment. So, I called them this morning and they literally picked up the phone, listened to me say hello and hung up. I called back and they sent it to voicemail. This is beyond just being unprofessional or rude. This is prejudice and disrespect they are showing people, paying customers, for not having straight hair and it is abhorrent. If you want to be charged more, cancelled on, disrespected, and discriminated against for not being their preferred client “type”, this is the salon for you.
I had a really disappointing experience at this salon. Before booking, I called ahead specifically to ask if they had a stylist experienced with short, naturally curly hair. The person on the phone seemed unsure but checked with someone and assured me they did. When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk to greet me—just two people sitting in salon chairs on their phones. Eventually, one of them gestured for me to come over without introducing themselves or asking for my name. I showed the stylist a picture of the look I wanted, which I’ve achieved before with just styling products and a diffuser. He insisted I would need a curling iron, which made me immediately concerned. After washing my hair, he brushed it (which is unusual for curly hair), and then we went back and forth again about whether a curling iron was necessary. At this point, I realized I was essentially instructing him on how to style my hair. Then, he struggled to find a diffuser attachment—eventually pulling out one that was still inside its original plastic bag packaging which was torn open for the first time in front of me, indicating it had never been used before. That was the final red flag for me. I no longer trusted that he knew how to work with my hair type, so I ended the appointment before he finished. To top it off, the other employee was playing on their phone with the audio on, making the environment feel unprofessional and inattentive. If you have short, naturally curly hair, I strongly advise against coming here. They may do well with longer or straighter hair, but they clearly lack the experience and confidence to handle curls properly.
