Amy and Cathy at the south park meadows locale checked me in and although I’ve been here before and although I showed them that my excellent insurance is already at the out of pocket maximum and although I showed them that they are reading my insurance card incorrectly they insisted on collecting money from me and the wrong amount as I dont have a co pay. Cathy refuses to talk to my insurance. I call my insurance and the insurance wants to speak to the site ladies but the site ladies refuse to speak to my insurance. I ask for a manager. No manager on site. Then I ask for the number for my insurance to call and Cathy gives them the number where we are - And not billing or wherever to get it straightened out. Stupid. Insurance calls site then site gives them billing. Puts my insurance on hold for over 30 min. And billing never answers the phone. So then I ask if I pay the blackmail fee which is totally incorrect if I can get my money back so that I can be seen while my insurance company straightens out the billing. They say yes but another 10 min goes by and insurance still can’t reach billing in their eternal hold. So what does that mean if insurance can’t reach billing for an hour? A complete nightmare for the patient if there’s a billing discrepancy. Totally maddening when one is at urgent care and not feeling well to have to go thru all this. I will never ever be back. Came here because they were great the first time I was here. Expect to pay some made up amount and not have any manager on site nor any recourse if you are billed incorrectly. Took myself across the highway to Coventra Urgent care and in 2 minutes was checked in.
They lied to me upfront about accepting my insurance. They told me they accepted my insurance and after they collected my copay of $50, several months later, they billed me for the visit “at insurance cost” of $285. And keep in mind the visits out of pockets are already excessive ($230). So if you present insurance they charge you your copay plus a higher rate for your insurance and if your insurance denies the claim they keep the money from the copay, will refuse to adjust the bill and then charge you for the higher amount they tried billing the insurance. Money grabbers.
The receptionist working the morning of Monday February 2 was rude. She had a bad attitude for no reason. She was a lot better afterwards. Nurse and doctor were great.
The entire staff was super courteous and helpful. My son was sick and they were busy but they allowed him to sleep in a room while we waited on the doctor. He recieved excellent care. Will come back again!
Great experience. Ericka got me started with vitals, etc. Great personality. Warm and caring . Dr Chapa was great. I felt like I was in very capable hands. She performed my procedure with great care. Also a very calm caring demeanor.
