I train my service dog with the Academy of Canine Excellence, and it’s honestly been such a good fit for us. The trainers are kind, knowledgeable, and use positive, relationship-based methods—exactly what my dog responds to. They took the time to understand my disabilities and what I actually need from a working dog, not just a generic checklist of tasks. We’re nearing the end of our scent training for TBI-related migraine onset and brainstem-aura symptoms, which can affect my speech and balance. This is highly specialized work, and I wouldn’t have trusted just anyone to guide us through it. ACE approached it with real expertise and care, and it’s made such a difference. We’re also preparing him for real workplace settings, including classrooms, travel for conferences, and other professional environments. I’m so pleased with how confidently he’s adapted to those settings, and I even feel more secure attending medical appointments (where extra support matters) on my own. I’ve worked with other programs before, but ACE is the first place where I’ve felt fully supported—as a handler, as a disabled person, and as someone building a long-term working partnership with my dog. They’re respectful, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in our growth. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for compassionate, evidence-based service dog training that actually meets you where you are.

There isn’t a better place in the city for dog training. Academy of Canine Excellence has trained both my service dog and my oldest child’s service dog. I’m pretty sure my family gets tired of hearing how much these dogs help us. ACE absolutely has changed and improved our lives for the better. After almost 35 years of struggling with their disability, the difference in my oldest child and what they can handle is massive. The only thing that has genuinely ever worked. Having a dog myself means when I am home alone I can be safe and have help around the house while my child runs errands. They are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. My service dog is so loving, supportive and always there when I need him. Thank you Academy of Canine Excellence.

I have gone through training for one service dog with Academy of Canine Excellence and now im in training with my one year old pup to take over when my first SD retires. The trainers are AMAZING! In addition to private and group classes, Academy of Canine Excellence also offers boarding and daycare with extra training If needed. I would not board or train with anyone else in Albuquerque.

Briaun has been amazing to work with and knowledgeable in every way. She has taken great care of the service dog pups we have sent her way! They are advancing rapidly and getting proper DNA and hip testing! They will find superb ways to serve through her guidance. She deals with high integrity and a kindness to all people and dogs she works with! The facility is incredibly clean and well cared for as well !

I could not be happier with the training we received here. My dog was fearful and non-stop barking at strangers and other dogs. We have been through a handful of other trainers trying to fix their issues with no success. Now our boys are able to enjoy their walks and almost never bark at people coming over.
