The Bean Flower is hands down the best boba shop in the triangle, and I love putting money in the pocket for a born and bred Durham biz owner- a real person not a corporation. CC and her team worked really hard on this menu, and it shows. The specials are really unique and delicious (chai nog, corn milk, and the malted orange hot chocolate have been standouts). But the main reason I go is for the chai. It's really authentic, sweet, spicy, and delicious. I can tell that CC and her team are genuinely community driven and I'm so glad we have this spot in Durham.
I love this place. Every drink I have gotten here has been delicious and special. I really appreciate how CC, the owner, is so welcoming and patient with questions about the menu. I love to try the monthly specials. The Hibiscus Mango Fizz with lychee stars is also a favorite of mine.
Update: This place is such a gem - you really can't find flavors and charm like this elsewhere in Durham. If you like authentic Asian flavors, check it out. They rotate some seasonal flavors every month! Tucked away in an unassuming plaza, The Bean Flower is a very cute asian drink and dessert spot with authentic flavors and a fun vibe. We tried: Winter Melon Iimeade with aloe - very refreshing Matcha milk tea - really nice matcha! Iced Cendol - 10/10 Viet coffee jelly Everything was delicious. We chose "not too sweet" for whatever had that option.
We felt so welcomed here — it truly felt like home! The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. They even made me a Vietnamese coffee with dairy-free condensed milk, something I’ve never had before, and it was amazing. We also loved how they took the time to chat with us and recommend other spots nearby with dishes similar to what we enjoy in Vancouver. Such a thoughtful and authentic experience — we’ll definitely be back!
I am in town visiting for a work thing and love to try unique locally owned business's. The drink I had, Winter Melon tea, was one of the best drinks I have had in a long time. It tasted fresh, perfectly sweet, and flavorful. The atmosphere of the shop is fun and welcoming. The employee/owner, I'm not quite sure, was very friendly and the service was fast. I will be coming back as many times as possible before I leave!
