The Book Loft hardly needs another rave review but I’ll provide one anyway! This is my favorite place to get lost. When I have a bad day at work, I pop over here and enjoy the books and positive energy. I’m very appreciative of how inclusive they are… you can only get that from a locally owned place. Most recently, I enjoyed the graphic novel rooms and the YA books in the lower levels. I was also able to find a Christmas gift in the bargain book section (60% off). I’ll always come back.
The Book Loft is an absolutely magical place to visit when you're in Columbus no matter the season. Even if you're not a huge reader, I still feel like it's a must stop just for the experience of taking in the space. If you are a reader, you will be in for a treat because of the massive collection of not only books, but gifts themed around your favorite literature, art, or cinema.
We visited the Book Loft on a rainy Sunday! Walking in through the little garden was beautiful. It was very crowded and had to wait to walk through. People would stop in the middle of a narrow walk way and talk to their group. No matter how many times you said excused me people were rude. The staff were all nice and amazing. Just be prepared for stairs and a lot of narrow rooms! Still enjoyed my visit!
This was my first time visiting the Book Loft in German Village, and I absolutely loved it. The store has 32 rooms filled with books, and it feels endless in the best way. The ambience is cozy and welcoming, making it easy to get lost in browsing and exploring. I felt like I could spend my entire life here reading and still never finish. In addition to the books, they also have postcards, magnets, and other fun items that make the experience even more enjoyable. It is free to enter, though any large bags must be checked in at the front. This is truly a must-visit for any book lover.
