We just completed level 2.5 obedience classes at Canine Coach after completing 2 previous courses and 1 in-home training. We could not recommend them enough! The training (for both humans and puppies) is extremely helpful. I also have to make sure and give high praise to Courtney S. who has led all of our courses. She is extremely knowledgable and helpful throughout each class and clearly loves and understands dogs. She always had a thoughtful answer to our questions and was more than willing to help and give a little extra attention when needed. When we booked our most recent course we made sure to pick one that Courtney was leading because we trust her and appreciate her teaching style. If you have a (formerly) naughty puppy like us, do yourself and book a course with Courtney S. and Canine Coach in SLP!

Coach Clarissa is flexible and so caring. She is really helping my reactive, insecure dog grow and become more confident. He is learning how to control his impulses and follow boundaries. The staff is very helpful and responsive. I recommend the company and especially Coach Clarissa.

The Canine Coach is absolutely fantastic! About 10 years ago, my first Rottweiler was trained here, and now my current Rottweiler puppy is going through training with Wendy—who is amazing! Over the last decade, I've trusted them with both of my dogs, and the experience has always been top-notch. The trainers are passionate, helpful, and truly tailor the training to your dog’s needs. Whether it’s puppy basics or advanced off-leash work, the Canine Coach is the place to go. Highly recommend!

My 5 month old puppy, Archie, just completed two weeks of Puppy Boot Camp training at The Canine Coach (TCC). Archie is a high-energy MaltiPoo bundle of fun. After chasing him around my house for 6 weeks (he arrived at 13 weeks), I decided there had to be a better way. I was definitely having some puppy blues and the reality of owning a puppy was hitting me hard. I decided I def needed help. My experience at TCC was fantastic and from seeing Archie’s excitement during drop-off—I’d say he shared that feeling. Tim Kolden, Archie’s trainer, taught him a bunch of useful puppy skills—sit, down, drop-it, come—and he taught me too! Tim was willing to listen to my concerns and frustrations—God Bless him—and now Archie has a new confidence. Like someone rewired his puppy brain circuits or gave him Adderall. Or maybe that’s how I feel? One note about how I found The Canine Coach: there are MANY dog training programs in the Twin Cities. And some are upwards of $3,200+ depending on what combination of weeks/boarding options you choose. Given Archie’s age and my FT job, I wanted intensive training but not overnight boarding. This puppy boot camp program was drop-off/pick-up and 2 weeks long. They make sure you spend time with the trainer each week to learn your dog’s new skills and provide handouts (emailed) for practice. It was really perfect for my needs and 1/3 of the cost of some of the other dog training programs. If you are in need of training help but not looking to break the bank, start here. Every single person I encountered was helpful, friendly and clearly in the right profession as a dog lover. Their office was very helpful and responsive—sending me emails about makeup days before I even asked. Highly recommended TCC—5 stars! A big thank you to Tim and everyone at TCC!

We have had great experiences with Canine Coach. Maggie has completed two group classes so far, Obedience 1 and Door Greeting/Jumping, and we have just registered her for two more classes. We have loved our trainers Clarissa Z & Courtney S, they both have been amazing. The facility is clean and well maintained, the trainers are thorough and their instructions are clear. Even in group classes you get a lot of individual attention and feedback. Our pup loves to come here and so do we!
