My honest review on Chopin Law Firm. My lawyer was Jacques. If I could post this review with no stars then it would be 100% right. This was the absolute worst lawyer I have ever dealt with. I honestly do not know how there are some reviews here that actually praise him because he did not take my case seriously. I tried and tried and tried to get him to see who was at fault and I was the one going back and forth to the police department, making my car insurance and health insurance calls. Making my own therapy appointments, paying for my records. I really had a horrible experience with this law firm. They were recommended to me by a family Lawyer from another state and I told them that they recommended me a horrible lawyer. My family Lawyer was so ashamed and said she was never again recommending the Chopin Law Firm. I even contacted another local law firm and they told me that Jacques could of done everything so differently but he was just lazy. There were times that I would ask Jacques, why can’t you do this that way?, he would not have an answer or go around the question avoiding to give me an actual answer. The communication was another level of unbelievably bad. It would take up to three weeks for him to get back to me. I would call, text, email, voicemails, leave a message with secretary. I could go on and on in much more details but I think you can now get the image of this law firm. Like I said in the beginning I wish I could give it zero stars. One more thing If I would of been a white person I think they would’ve helped. Racism will always be the problem.

I have mixed opinions about Chopin. I first called and spoke to a lawyer at the firm about a workers compensation claim, they took the claim and I did not hear back from them for 2 to 3 months. I then got a message saying my claim was almost settled so I called their office only to find out that they thought I had dropped my claim and then assigned me to a completely new attorney, Mrs. Lindsay. Lindsay was very helpful and professional. However, if your claim is complicated I don’t get the impression they (Chopin) are interested in pursuing those types of cases. They want straightforward, easy to settle cases. *Edit to clarify: I signed a representation agreement with Chopin in October of 2024, I didn’t hear from anyone until I called Chopin in May of 2025, that’s six to seven months of time wasted. When I called them, I was told they thought I had settled the claim on my own. When I told them this wasn’t the case I was assigned a completely different lawyer than the gentleman I had originally signed an agreement with. The new lawyer, had to start from the beginning because little if anything was done in the intervening months from the initial agreement. By the time Chopin actually started working on my case, my former employer had announced they were closing the business and any chance at a settlement was almost nonexistent. The time lost may have made a huge difference in the outcome of my case. So I stand by my review, it’s only because of Mrs. Lindsay it isn’t lower.
