The English Rose Café & Tea Shop offre une expérience authentiquement britannique du thé au cœur de Londres, juste en face du palais de Buckingham. Went here today, for the afternoon tea. It was £38 per person. Good selection of tea, cakes and sandwiches. We are vegetarian, and it was quite vegetarian friendly. Felt it was a bit pricey, but it was a good experience. They also kindly gave takeaway boxes to take the leftovers home. I saw a lot of Japanese people in the cafe, so maybe it's popular among the Japanese community!
There's fairly tight crowd control mgt, which I didn't find too welcoming. I could see empty tables inside & staff hanging out in the bar, but it still took them several minutes to escort me in. For the food, unfortunately, I was disappointed here as well. My vanilla scone was too sweet & my peppermint tea bag tea wasn't all too special. It was interesting to see the stranger I had to share a table with left half her scone behind. I would say this place caters more to tourists.
Such a cute place right opposite Buckingham Palace tour exit. If you order a pot of tea you get completely different pieces which is like being at grannies house. Servers are incredibly nice and attentive. English Rose wallpaper, teapots and even a piano and lamps in the corners complete the picture. English Breakfast was excellent. Eggs were so so fluffy! Get here on time because Breakfast quickly turns to lunch. Lots of people just come here for the Scones which I didn’t have time for during my trip but NEXT TIME!!!
The scones were absolutely outstanding:warm, with a perfect texture: slightly crumbly, not too sweet, and full of flavor. Easily among the best I have ever tasted. The service was also excellent; the staff member was very friendly and welcoming. The tearoom itself has a lovely, cozy atmosphere and a charming, typically British interior. A perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon break.
I‘m glad I‘ve found this beautiful little Café during our stay in London. I first came here with my mother to enjoy an traditional afternoon tea. We‘ve asked for an vegetarian menu and there was no problem. The vegetarian sandwich fingers as well as the - warm and fresh - scones were very delicious. The brownie was very good too. The only thing we would suggest is that the topping of the red velvet and carrot cake could be with less sugar. To us, the cream topping was too sweet. The scones were so good that we came to another cream tea some days later. We would recommend this café to everyone.
