The junior school is fabulous! The teachers are all phenomenal. Check out an open house and your child can try some hands on arts and crafts.

Summer Camp at the Glassell School of Art was a horrible experience. A special needs child was placed in my child’s class that would not leave our child alone. The special needs child continually hit and caused a distraction to the point we did not return to camp. The teacher and administration were unable to keep my child safe under their supervision. I never thought there would be an issue with this camp but we were horribly mistaken. The administration offered us a credit to come back for fall camp as compensation - except fall camp is during the week from 4:30-6pm. I will never come back or recommend this experience to anyone I know.

August 2023: The MFAH Glassell School of Art was on top of my Houston to-do visit but unfortunately too late to go inside. However you have public access to walk around the outdoor Brown Foundation, Inc. Plaza exploring the Cullen Sculpture Garden. My primary goal was to see the Cloud Column sculpture. I have see in person Cloud Gate (“Chicago Bean”) in Chicago and read the predecessor was being installed here. It was remarkable to see and marvel at. Besides this sculpture there are other amazing ones scattered on the grounds. The artistic environment here is top notch. There was even a splash pad for the kids and covered tables chairs. This nicely landscaped plaza also has a place to dine at Cafe Leonelli.

I think this is a great place for content creators. The concept is open, there is plenty of artwork and the cloud sculpture is nice as well. It’s also not to far from the fine arts museum and Herman Park. The area itself is beautiful for making reels or anything else you could need. Plus the sculptures and artwork are great just to enjoy.

Very nice fresh looking arts museum and school. There's plenty of activities that the school provides, and many of them are free. Great place to take pictures and enjoy the visual arts.
