The Hidden Dojo is truly something special!! From the moment we walked in, the senseis made our children feel welcome! They’ve created an environment that is not only encouraging for the students but also enjoyable for the parents to watch 🙌🏽Watching the classes is easy and up close, which makes the whole experience feel even more personal and connected. What stands out the most is how welcoming and gracious Senseis are. They are patient, enthusiastic, and genuinely invested in helping each child grow and succeed. Their ability to remember every student’s name after just one introduction is impressive—and speaks volumes about how much they care about our littles! The Hidden Dojo is an exceptional place to train. Sensei Derek and his instructors offer a perfect balance of professionalism, fun, expertise, and genuine care for every student’s progress. They are committed to fostering a positive, supportive and respectful learning environment that makes you feel like a member of the dojo family. Their personalized approach ensures that each student, regardless of skill level, feels encouraged and empowered to improve. The other students are all very friendly which is one (of many things) that makes me look forward to every class. Great dojo, great people! Sensei teaches Japanese Jiu Jitsu (JJJ) which emphasizes using an opponent’s energy/momentum and movement against them. JJJ originated in Japan and was used by the samurai. You will learn various joint locks, chokeholds, strikes, takedowns, throws, ground grappling and other basic “street fighting” techniques on a rotating basis. The Hidden Dojo is the ideal place to learn PRACTICAL SELF-DEFENSE and achieve your martial arts goals. I look forward to training here for many more years to come! 🥋👊🏼
Great friendly place! Sensei is great with all ages, kids and adults. Myself and both my kid's take classes here and we all love it. UPDATE: Three years later I have become an instructor and I am one more belt away from becoming a black belt (life accomplishment/ goal). Very glad we found this place it has helped my health mentally and physically, don't know where I'd be without my 2nd family.
My kids love playing and learning at the dojo. They make the lessons so engaging and I love that my kids are learning strength and life skills in addition to the techniques! The building is large and welcoming and the staff is so friendly.
