My family has been using LD Expert for a couple of years. My kids and I absolutely adore their tutors and I love how I have seen my dyslexic kids grow in their reading skills. I am so grateful to have found them and to know that my kids are getting the skills they need for reading and spelling. I would refer them to everyone needing help with their dyslexic kids!

My child has significant learning delays and speech impairments. I decided to focus on reading as my child's most important goal and secured LD Experts for tutoring 3 times a week. I have seen more progress in their reading in the 5 months we hired them than in 6 years of special ed at school. (Side bonus...we also saw wonderful improvement in their speech even though that isn't what they are tutoring them on!) Previously my child had learned lots of bad tactics for working around reading: guessing, deducing, not trying. They are now finally learning the construction of words, which is giving them the tools so they don't have to memorize every word (memorizing characters/words is one of their greatest challenges)...They can now break them down and I can tell it is giving them the confidence and foundation to level up on their reading for years to come. In addition, learning the actual process of reading has helped them deconstruct words down to the letter so that they can now speak them more clearly as well. Hooray! The tutoring is Zoom, so if your child works better in person, this may be a negative for you, but my child has much preferred the Zoom and it has been a game changer for our very challenging scheduling needs (we can do it anywhere with wifi). As the single mom of 3 with lots of sports, etc. this has been the only way we could do tutoring so frequently. Tutoring in general isn't cheap, and this is no exception, but considering the tutor is a professional who has training with students with special needs and learning disabilities, and who has her doctorate degree...I think it is a very fair price. A huge sigh of relief, because now I can see for sure that my child CAN learn how to read.

My son, diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and ADHD, has struggled w math for years. My dad told me about LD Expert and we got connected to Mr. Burk. He spent the first few sessions just getting to know and building trust with my son. He's in 9th grade and taking Algebra. He had a 17 in the first month and, with Mr. Burl's help, is now passing! More than a passing grade, he is building confidence in his math skills. Highly recommend!

Stephanie is outstanding. She was excellent in helping me navigate my child's ARD meeting and a difficult situation we had with NEISD that NEISD wanted to make right. I highly recommend her for advocate services. It is worth it to have her come with you and help you make sense of documents and what the school is doing, and it helps when she can confirm good things that the school is doing and reassure you about that. I wish I would have found her a year and a half ago when my child was first diagnosed. Do yourself a favor and enlist the LD Expert as an advocate. They also have tutoring services, but advocacy is very important, too.

I am so happy with my daughter’s progress she has learned from Ms. Emily. My daughter has struggled so many years in reading and Emily has taught her so much to help her work through pronouncing out words. She has showed improvement on her testing scores and is now approaching where she needs to be for her grade level. I am so thankful we found LD expert to help my daughter. Thank you for all you do!
