I have gotten three piercings from Heather and I love each and every one of them! She does an amazing job explaining jewelry as well as the process of getting the piercing. Great experience and great customer service!
This was my first time coming in to this shop. Everyone is very nice and the shop is very clean. Nick was my tattoo artist and for a relatively new artist he's got some mad skills! I had the line work done of a dragon I wanted on my upper arm. The lines are very clean, he seems very meticulous about his work. I also loved his portfolio. I think he deserves more regular clients coming his way.
Went in as walkins with my friend. We called a few hours prior and was told to come at 3pm. We were told Nick would be doing our tattoos. We get there, Nick asks us what we’d like. My friend shows him what she wants but asks to make the woman look more feminine and to make the face not look squished to the side like the original photo. The lips were blown out, the face was not done how my friend wanted and it’s on her body forever. We can see why Nick has much availability on the website. Nick asked me what I wanted. I told him I wanted the last picture uploaded. “I want it red, I don’t want it to touch any of my other tattoos, I’d like a gap of skin between them. Oh, did I say I wanted it red already?” He says, “yeah, you said that already.” Okay, cool. He leaves and then tells me someone else will be doing my tattoo, Rick. Rick comes back and shows me his drawing. Looks good. I told him I didn’t want it to touch my other tattoos and he said word for word, “yeah, he told me what you wanted.” Well, alas he forgot to tell him I wanted red. I should’ve told him too as an extra precaution. When Nick said he’d tell Rick what I wanted and then Rick says he was already told what I wanted, I assumed they mentioned the red as I told Nick twice. I had another friend sitting across from me while I was getting my tattoo who noticed it. “Didn’t you want it red?” Immediately jump up to go look at it. I go to where Nick is tattooing my friend, he is in the back and I tell my friend how they did black instead of red, Nick walks to us and says, “I’m sorry I forgot.” Rick said I wouldn’t have to pay for what he had done when I initially offered. Good thing too, I’m already paying for the removal which is a lot more than the tattoo ever would have been. Be very cautious as a walk in, they might forget what you want lol.
We have a nice family experience. Our artist, Nick it's awesome. No discomfort during the process and fast recovery. Highly recommend the shop, everyone was nice. Cool vibes!
My best friend and I came in both to get different piercings- I got a vertical labret on my lip & she got her ears pierced. We definitely lucked out with Heather at Folk City. She was so amazing and kind- I definitely felt comfortable. Everything was clean and professional! Thank you truly for a wonderful experience from start to finish!
