My 6 year old dog's mental health had been deteriorating following a long and loud fireworks season in October/November. It started with being fearful to go for a walk in the dark, but gradually worsened to refusal to leave the garden by day too. When I drove her to familiar spots to walk or play, she would simply stand and shake with fear. Sometimes taking her to a new place would result in a successful walk, but often when I returned a second or third time, the shaking and refusing would occur - I was running out of places to go and nothing I had tried had helped. Reaching out to Aileen was the best thing I could have done - I booked 5 sessions, 2 weeks apart, because I knew there was no quick fix for this. Aileen listened, asked questions, didn't judge. She could make no promises on outcomes, but I no longer felt alone with the problem. Through a mix of games, exercises and distractions, my dogs, fear slowly lessened and her confidence grew. When something worked, we repeated it, when it didn't Aileen thought of something else to try. Improvement was gradual but marked. At the end of our sessions my dog was consistently walking from the house and coping better in other local walking spots. My dog and I continue to use the techniques Aileen gave us and a year on we are enjoying all our walks, even in the dark, something I never thought to see!

Thoroughly recommend The Perfect Puppy Company. Aileen has given us the tools to give our puppy the best start. Aileen listened and took the time to understand our situation (young child)0 and how best to set our puppy up for success. A realistic approach to dog training!

Aileen has been so helpful in helping us manage how Riley interacts with other dogs and in reducing his anxiety when seeing another dog out in public. Our walks are now lovely and calm and he’s so much more confident out and about.

I can’t thank Aileen enough for the help she gave me with our spirited cockapoo puppy, Willow. She gave me great tips and took the time to explain everything for me to better understand Willows behaviour. Our last session off the lead walking was a huge success and gave me the confidence of knowing how to train Willow. I can honestly say I’ve gone from not enjoying dog walks much at all to it now being my favourite thing to do, she is so well behaved and I love to watch her enjoying the walks, all while doing as I ask. I would highly recommend Aileen for anyone looking for advice on their pups!

Would recommend Aileen 100%, she is all about the whole dog and what they need from us to be as supported and happy as they can be in our world, this is what we were looking for in a trainer. The advice she gave us on boundaries, overwhelming situations /focus and our lead handling was spot on , we also looked at everything from a breed specific point which was what I wanted as sometimes dogs can be labelled as all much the same and this is definitely not true. We have a guardian breed and needed this acknowledged in a positive way in any training , we were so happy that this was the approach Aileen took. We have left with real positive changes in our management , ie , lead/ focus/boundaries. and so much more advice and information that has been a real ongoing support to us, which of course means the most important part is our dog is now getting better guidance from us and therefore he is happier and less frustrated on his day to day walks . Your dog will be in safe hands with Aileen .Thank you Aileen.
