We have been taking our pets there for over a year. Clean and professional! Maybe not the cheapest, but they give you all the options and no pressure. We come in monthly for flea and heartworm prevention, as well as nail trims - which do not require an appointment. They are open 7 days a week and if your location doesn't have open appointments, they can get you in at another location. I like the online portal, too. We love Dr. Cozzarelli! We have 1 outdoor cat and 3 rescue dogs.
Dr. Welsh is always so sweet and pleasant! Every time I call, the entire team is kind, upbeat, and genuinely helpful. They’re incredibly accommodating and flexible with scheduling, which I really appreciate with my work hours. They always give my puppy so much love, and she has zero hesitation walking into the vet. Thank you to everyone at The Pet Hospitals Poplar at Massey for being amazing! :)
I brought my cat here yesterday and unfortunately had to say goodbye to him as well. My doctor and her assistant were so kind and compassionate. They gave me as much time as I needed even though it was past closing time. There aren’t any words to express how grateful I am to have received such kindness at the worst moment of my life. I get my chunky boy back sometime this week. Thank you guys for doing a hard job and going above and beyond.
My 3-month-old cat hasn’t been eating and has been vomiting, so we brought him here hoping for real care and answers. Instead, the entire visit felt rushed and focused more on upselling than actual concern for his health. We were told the only thing they could do was a basic physical—unless we wanted to immediately jump to $500 worth of X-rays and an ultrasound. We agreed to the physical, but after taking my cat to the back, they returned saying he was “too difficult to handle” and that they couldn’t even examine him without giving him a sedative—another unnecessary charge they tried to push. We declined, as our cat is not aggressive or unmanageable, and it felt like just another way to pad the bill. Their final suggestion was a nausea shot. We agreed and said we would return for X-rays if he didn’t improve. They took him to another room briefly and then sent us straight to checkout, where we were charged for a physical exam and “clinical support,” neither of which we truly received. The next day, our cat was still lethargic and not eating, so we went to PetVax. They were compassionate, thorough, and genuinely concerned. When we told them our cat had been given a nausea shot at the previous clinic, they called to confirm what medication he had received. That’s when we learned no shot or medication was ever given. We got charged for walking through the door and no service was actually provided. We will not be returning. Our pets deserve real care—not rushed appointments, deceit, and profit-driven treatment.
I usually go to the downtown location, but this was my first time visiting the Poplar location due to an emergency reschedule on the same day. To my surprise, the experience at Poplar was excellent! The environment is clean and welcoming, and I especially liked the spacious treatment room with a comfortable long chair and a selection of books. The staff were friendly and helpful, and Dr. Marion Welsh was wonderful—she’s not only sweet and professional but also a true cat lover! She even prepared a bag of treats for my boy and provided me with a detailed health report that I never had before. I’m really impressed and plan to transfer my future appointments to this location!
