I waited to write this because I wanted to be sure, and now I am: Pilates Collective has been the single best thing to ever happen for my physical health. At the age of 13 I was BC's youngest recorded discectomy (L5S1) and have lived majority of life with compensation and discomfort. Discomfort / muscle imbalance turned into serious injury during my most recent marathon training where my leg went completely numb and the same disc re-herniated. For the last 2.5 years I have tried everything: Spinal steroid injections, tons of physio, acupuncture, chiro, trigger therapy, personal training, group reformer pilates, group mat pilates, swimming, yoga, and even saw world-class spinal specialists/surgeons. Nothing worked, and majority of the time pain/discomfort got worse after sessions. Five sessions at Pilates Collective has changed everything. For the first time in years, I TRULY believe I’ll run again, feel comfortable in my body, and reach better physical conditioning than ever. They solve the root problem and understand the core issue I’m facing. They’re teaching me to use muscles that have been inactive - but wanting to fire - since I was a child. They aren't selling me a fix, they are giving me a solution. I’ve worked with Kirsten, Carly, Maggie, and Noam. Every instructor and every session has taught me something new, given me comfort in my own body, and real confidence that I’ll be better soon - It's provided enough confidence to write this honest review. A few side notes: Yes, 1-on-1 sessions are expensive, but they’re worth it. Consistency has made a massive difference. Once I learn the basics more, I plan to move into the open gym where instructors still support, just not the 1-on-1 attention I'm currently needing. Come in curious and ready to learn about your body. If you have some awareness of your imbalances and movement patterns, you’ll get great value from the very first session. They watch closely, listen carefully, and tailor everything to you. Lastly, If your problem feels like it's stemming from structural imbalances and feel lost, hopeless, or like you’ll never feel normal again - this place is truly worth a shot... I'm already endlessly grateful to the whole Pilates Collective team.
Noam is an incredible teacher. Thoughtful, clear, and challenges you while making the class a true joy and a pleasure. I wish I lived in Vancouver if only so I could come every day!!! Truly the best workout I’ve ever had and unlike any other Pilates class I’ve ever taken!

If I could give more stars I would. True to the art and discipline of classical pilates, this studio is a truly inclusive place of all body types and abilities. Be humbled and inspired at the same time; find connections and strength in your body you never knew existed. Pilates is truly life changing when coached in the right environment, with the right knowledge, form and technique. This studio is a place of mastery - you will be guided by the absolute best!
Where do I even start?! My journey to become a Pilates instructor started in 2023 at the Pilates Collective. I remember the first time I met Noam, the first thing he asked me was, to 'move'. Thinking back, I think i was intimidated by it because I wasn't sure if I had the 'move' in my body. Long story short, if anyone asks me to 'move' now, I know at least that I have the essense of the move in my body. The more I learn, the deeper my understanding becomes, both in my body and my mind. That's how Noam and Kirsten teach all future Pilates instructors and they foster such an amazing, loving and warm environment at the studio. I shared my experience as an apprentice Pilates instructor. But, regardless of the reason why you want to pursue Pilates, I believe that if you are looking for a studio to learn Pilates, you would appreciate your time at the Pilates Collective. All the teachers are amazing and they will give you the real Contrology work. You will leave the studio feeling great, lighter, and grateful. It will become your life style. Enjoy your time!
