We sat on the patio because the dining room was dark and hot. For some reason the patio heaters were on even though it was 80 degrees on this day. The service was good. We ordered Crispy Artichokes 2.5/5, Reuben Panini 2/5 (tasted okay but ridiculously soggy), and Turkey on Wheat 3/5.
It was delicious. We had a cocktail. It was a good Bloody Mary. The breakfast bruschetta. Breakfast croissant sandwich and the social Benedict. We will be back
I visited The Social on 83rd for the first time on Sunday, 11/16, for a birthday breakfast with three friends. I hadn’t chosen the restaurant myself, and based on the 4.4 Google rating and limited brunch menu, I probably wouldn’t have. Our table ordered Biscuits & Gravy, Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes, and two Social Benedicts, one of them mine. The Social Benedict comes with ham, spinach, avocado, poached eggs, adobo hollandaise, and potatoes (which I requested well-done). Unfortunately, my Eggs Benedict was the WORST I’ve ever had. The English muffin was unusually thick, completely untoasted, and unbuttered. The ham was nicely cooked and crispy around the edges, but the dish fell apart from there. The avocado and poached eggs were placed on opposite sides of the muffin, making it impossible to get a proper bite that included everything without reconstructing the dish myself. As for the adobo hollandaise, there was barely a teaspoon on each half, leaving the entire dish extremely dry and lacking flavor. When I asked the waiter for more, he happily obliged, bringing a small bowl of watered-down and nearly tasteless additional sauce approximately five minutes later, making it appear as if the sauce had been mixed together from a powder mix in a rush. On the positive side, our server was attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant, which is why I rated service and ambiance highly. As you can see from my overall rating, I won’t be returning to The Social on 83rd, and I’d recommend that you try a different restaurant for breakfast or brunch.
If this place opens in Chandler, it would be a hit! Why does it have to be so far from my house…sighhh It was a long lunch date I had with a friend I hadn’t chatted with for a long time. We ordered alcohol beverages plus some items from the lunch menu - the specialty burger and some sliders. The server checked on us often which I appreciated. Overall, what a cozy spot and I enjoyed the vibe. I saw the Sunday breakfast menu and I am bummed that I won’t be able to participate. Again, if they open a restaurant in Chandler with similar concept, I bet a lot of people would go.
Came in for my grandsons 1 year day party. Nice atmosphere. A bit "bumpin" as the kids would say so we sat outside and had a nice lunch. Service was solid and food came put quite timely. Burgers were cooked over a bit so order them a little less done if you're fussy. Mac n cheese was 10/10... loved the smoked gouda! Short rib tacos were q generous portion. Asian chicken sandwich was undoubtedly my favorite! Crunchy and with a tangy, sticky sauce! Desert was slightly underwhelming. The par-baked cookie was literally raw chocolate chip cookie dough. Unappetizing. Overall the place is trendy and staff very accommodating and worked well as a team. We'll be back!
