I have good things to say and some not so good things. Everyone there was friendly. However, I have had two pets fixed elsewhere where phone calls were provided midway through the day with updates. When you have someone sign hundreds of dollars in liability waivers for potential risks, a simple call to confirm things went well and to confirm final cost is appreciated. These are our fur babies and we worry about them. My partner picked our cat up and was not given any physical paperwork, and it was instead sent to his email since mine was never taken. That could have been collected at drop off or booking. Not providing paperwork at discharge felt somewhat disorganized. I did appreciate that we were not charged for a cone, as some clinics do charge for that. However, the cone was not actually put on him because staff said he was not licking the wound. Instead, we had to wrestle it onto a squirming cat post surgery, which was frustrating. A cat is likely to lick at some point. It would make more sense to send them home already wearing it and let the owner decide whether to keep it on. There is no way to know they will not lick on the drive home. That part felt poorly handled. So overall not terrible, but a few things could have been better managed. Edit: They did contact me about my pet’s vaccine booster, which I appreciate. However, it was only about three months after the prior visit and I was quoted roughly $150 including another exam fee for what was a routine booster. I later learned that exam fees tied to vaccines are clinic policy rather than a legal requirement when there is already an established veterinarian client patient relationship. Charging around a $100 exam fee alongside a simple booster felt excessive to me and ultimately influenced my decision to seek care elsewhere. I researched alternatives and learned routine vaccines except rabies can be obtained through a pet pharmacy at much lower cost and will show you how to administer, bringing my cost to under $15. At the end of the day this is a business decision, but it cost a returning client. Pricing like this - exam fees for booster shots - pushes pet owners to look elsewhere and to educate themselves on options for routine visits. I won’t be returning here. Especially after spending some time reading other people’s reviews.

The calmest and cleanest clinic in the city. I don’t know how they do it but it does NOT have that “vet office” smell which makes waiting much more pleasant, if you have to wait at all! They are really good about managing flow and I have only seen one or two other pets at most while Im there with mine, which keeps it nice and calm. The staff is lovely, the prices are reasonable and the vets aren’t just trying to see as many clients possible in a day. There are other places in the city that have cheaper exam rates but I have switched here because a couple extra bucks is worth the cleanliness and calmness here. I highly recommend it. I finally feel seen and respected by my vets! Also they gave a high and low quote, then called to update me and said all the work fell within the quote, even with 20 teeth pulled i still ended up on the low end, which was a really pleasant surprise

I found the staff to be quite friendly and helpful. As this was the first pet I've had in 30 years, I found myself taking in a cat that had been abandoned. Given his situation, I quickly fell in love with him and wanted to the right thing by getting him his shots, a tattoo and, as he's about 7 - 8 months old, neutered as well. Having never done anything like this before, I wasn't sure what to expect. First of all, I was under the impression that Dr. Charles West was going to be doing the procedure and found out AFTER, that some part-time doctor had come in and operated . Not sure why, but I found this unsettling. I would liked to at least, have met the doctor first. I found I was quite anxious about the whole ordeal and would have appreciated a little talk by the doctor. Secondly......what's with the " archaic" cone? Our cat is a " groomer". It's one of the first things we noticed when we got him inside. I " assumed" that cones were made with a Velcro strip or something. This cone came with a gauze strip I was supposed to tie around his body(?). NOT HAPPENING!!! Lol. I had no problem with the " atmosphere" of the place. It seemed okay. However, I got the feeling that since these " procedures" are so commonplace, it's easy to forget that this stuff can cause a lot of anxiety for us family members that have to make these decisions. I would, however, go back to the clinic.....making sure to meet the doctor....

Called to ask if it was normal to feel my cats microchip under his skin after insertion. ( had my cat neutered and chipped here) Expecting a simple yes or no, was given the run around response of “well you should book a consult to bring him in and pay to find out if it’s normal from our vet”. So called my regular vet and was simply informed that yes it’s totally normal to feel a microchip under your cats skin, no need for a consult but if you’d like to bring him I we can do a quick scan to make sure it’s working properly .

The care they have shown my animals is truly appreciated. Edmonton is so fortunate to have his practice in our community. Thank you!
