I can't imagine a boss being so passively angry to the point where an employee gets fired over something as trivial and petty as saying to a kid they have a treat waiting for them because it could potentially make other kids jealous. I'm amazed at how many positive reviews this place has considering the Big Brother attitude amongst the staff. If you're a parent considering taking your kid here to learn, here is how their education system works (I doubt it's changed since 2022 because the higher-ups were constantly bragging about how great it is): They have this set way that you need to teach kids, which works sometimes, but you aren't allowed to deviate from that system even if it would help the child. Their rotation system of learning tends to work with kids who have attention, frustration, or boredom issues since it forces them to change what they are doing and focus on 30-15-15 minute intervals. However, this process is difficult for older students in higher levels of math and english because probldms take longer to explain. When you get a new student at your rotation, you have to greet them nicely, ask them how their day went, find a way to praise them, etc. Sounds fine, but is problematic for the rotations that last 15 minutes because those students would get little learning done. Even when their learning is done, you still need a few minutes to fill out this sticker page they're assigned with and say some other positive things. So in reality, that would only be around 10 minutes of review/learning, arguably less if you factor in other students misbehaving. This is not even the worst of it. The tutors are specifically trained to only reinforce positivity and never criticism because the franchise is scared that they would lose money and students if the kids are criticised. A tutor can't say "No, this is not how you spell 'elephant'" like a normal teacher, but rather "well, let's see the proper way to spell that word because I understand it's very difficult." A tutor can't use a red pen because the color red signifies a negative emotion (are you fr???). If tutors only praise the students and "improve" the students' weaknesses by beating around the bush, those students aren't going to get better. I really can't understand the "studies" TTC praises that say otherwise. The tutors have to really, really pander to the kids. They're not allowed to scold them even when they misbehave. I'm struggling to think of a pro other than the staff always making an excellent effort to keep the place clean.

We have had our son here for over a year and his reading skills have grown as well as his confidence. This is a major one as he can be very shy. They've always encouraged him and worked patiently with him at his pace. (And he likes that he can earn prizes, that helps too lol). Their goal is for your child to succeed and keep learning through their own hard work and practice. Thanks guys!

I am absolutely blown away with how incredible The Tutoring Center has been for my daughter. The confidence she has gained has been amazing as well as the progress in school. Janet and Megan have been incredible with my son as well reading and teaching him tasks as we wait for sister to finish her session.

The Tutoring Center - Fresno is amazing. We started sending our kids there last year to help them keep up in school. Our kids kept wanting to come back and made significant improvements in their work. When we would encounter something that was overwhelming for our kids, it was consistently resolved after they spent time getting help at tutoring. I was impressed with how an initial baseline was created and the reports that we received twice a year to show their progress. When my wife (our kids' home school teacher) got sick Janet went above and beyond to help keep our kids from falling behind again. We are extremely grateful for The Tutoring Center under Janet's leadership and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to supplement their children's learning.

This center is totally awesome! From the initial first phone call to request information to the first meeting then the first tutoring session my son had, everything was such a great experience and the reception Megan is so nice and friendly. Janet the center Director is awesome and really takes the time to find out about your child and what exactly that he/she needs improvement in. They communicate with my sons teacher and attend our parent teacher Zoom meetings to be on the same page as the classroom instruction. They also were very kind to work with our Native American Tribe to complete all the paperwork needed so that our Tribe can fund my son’s tutoring. My son has been going for only one month and already received a 100% on his latest math test. They make it fun for the kids and Megan makes sure to keep the children safe while sitting and waiting in the front room to start the session and then makes sure the child leave’s safely with their parent. My son loves it there and I’m so glad I chose the Tutoring Center!
