We ordered a custom vintage cake and the design came out beautifully! It was intricate and detailed and tasted simply divine. We originally got the cake planning to have to freeze some of the leftovers to help preserve it for as long as possible, but at the rate we've been devouring it, I'm not sure freezing will be necessary lol! I also thought the price was fair for what we ordered and received and can hardly wait for another occasion to order again. They also have an excellent selection of other baked goods if cake isn't your jam. Thank you to Aaron, Elaine, and the rest of the staff who helped make this celebration of ours a special one!
Ordered a custom mahjong cake for my mom’s birthday and it was incredible. Everyone was blown away by how beautiful it was and how amazing it tasted. Not a single bite left over. They also came through even though their cake designer called out, which we really appreciated. Truly exceptional service and talent. Highly recommend.
Best cupcakes in Phoenix! The Velvet Buttercream offers a large variety of scrumptious signature gourmet cupcakes, cakes, tartlets, tarts and other dessert goodies made from scratch. Locally owned, inviting atmosphere, friendly staff. Sincere thanks to Wendy for her kindness, patience, suggestions, and assistance creating two beautiful gift box arrangements for a surprise birthday gift during my most recent visit.
I received these as a birthday gift through delivery today. The large lemon tart smells and tastes laterally like dog and the green vegan macaron, vegan brown macaron and vegan red rose macaron all smelled and tasted like they were left in a room that smelled like stale old and dirty pine sol as if they absorbed the smell. They were also hard and stale. The only fresh one was the white vegan macaron. The box it came in smelled like an old un-cleaned house. I called and spoke to the owner and asked for a refund and he said no because even though I was gifted the items I didn’t purchased the items. So I told him to give the person who purchased the items a refund. Initially he refused and offered in store credit. Why would I want to go out of my way, drive all the way there, taking time out of my already busy day, for desserts that I’m already grossed out about, my birthday has already passed. I have no desire to eat anything from your store. I just want a refund, or you are just ripping people off. He arrogantly said he will only refund the macarons as they are not made in house. But he will not refund the (dog smelling and dog tasting) lemon tart because that is their top seller, it is made in house and that is just how they smell. He blamed the smell on the lemons and eggs. He also blamed the smell, taste, hardness and staleness of the macarons on the fact that they were vegan. However lemon meringue pie is also made with lemon and egg and yet does not taste and smell like dog. We haven’t seen a refund yet. I was hoping to not have to tell the person who purchased the items for me because that’s embarrassing for them, me and the owner; but the owner was not helpful. In addition, Door Dash is not cheap! What waste of money and time! So disappointed. And yes I love lemons.
We needed a cake with only a few days notice after our other bakery choice fell through. They were able to squeeze us in for a German chocolate cake and seemed happy to take our order. They were friendly over the phone and answered all my questions and were so reasonably priced for the product they delivered. It was a huge hit and my father in law was so happy. The cake was beautiful and delicious. I will be utilizing this bakery again and again! Thanks for putting out a quality product and for having friendly employees.
