I'm a huge bookworm, so discovering there was an independent bookstore off the strip was a huge win for me. This bookstore has a small coffee shop in the front where you can get coffee drinks, tea and various baked goods. The bookstore itself has a wide variety of genres to choose from. Romance, mystery, fantasy, biographies, graphic novels, list goes on and on. Their prices are reasonable. I bought two sci-fi novels and a graphic novel the first time I visited, and paid around $65. And they do have a rewards program. This store also hosts several book clubs, each with a different theme. Check their website for dates and times. One thing to note, this is a very cozy store with limited space, but not so limited that it feels claustrophobic. The store does not have a parking lot, but street parking is available which is free on weekends and major holidays. And it is also next door to The Beverly Theater, a small arthouse theater showing independent films, international films, and Hollywood classics.
I'm a book dragon. Could spend hours on a Barnes n Noble. This place is stunning. There's a sculpture out front. You can get drinks and sit inside or outside. There's a HUGE birdcage. As you walk further in it's like walking down a street, there's even a street lamp. Books are everywhere. On shelves and tables. There's a reall bunny. As you walk and explore; make sure you not only look around but also look up. You'll feel as if you've been transported elsewhere.
The Writer’s Block is located in the downtown Arts District, and it’s such an adorable bookstore/coffeehouse. If you’re looking for real coffee — not the overly sweet stuff like Dutch Bros — this is absolutely the place. The coffee is strong, inexpensive, and actually tastes like coffee. You can also get a little nibble to eat, which I really appreciate. This place is LGBTQ-friendly for sure, and it’s decorated so cute and thoughtfully. There’s so much to look at. They have all kinds of books, and while it’s a bit of a tight squeeze, it’s beautifully done and totally makes up for it. One thing I didn’t love: the chairs at the tables weren’t very comfortable, especially if you’re on the thicker or bigger side. That was probably my only real complaint. The staff wasn’t overly smiley or chatty, but they do take care of you, and that’s what matters. I also liked that they have a separate little area where you can order and pay for a book, then pick it up at the front without having to wander through the bookstore again. There are only a few tables — probably around 10 spots total where you can actually sit and work or study — so I’d recommend getting there early if that’s your plan. Overall, this is a definite must-see. I really liked this place and would absolutely go back. Highly recommend.
Always one of my favorite spots when visiting Vegas. Coffee is excellent and the book selection is excellent. They always have a great book I've never heard of! Wide range from fiction, non fiction, cookbooks, sci fi, fantasy, romance, thriller, mystery, young adult and kids.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Writer’s Block – Las Vegas The Writer’s Block is hands down one of my favorite hidden gems in Downtown Las Vegas. It’s the kind of bookstore that reminds you why small, independent shops matter. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, creative atmosphere, friendly staff, and shelves packed with thoughtfully curated books you won’t always find at the big chains. They’ve got a great mix of new titles, unique gifts, stationery, and fun literary items. The space is cozy without feeling cramped, and it’s the perfect place to browse, discover something new, or just slow down for a moment in the middle of Vegas energy. The staff is always welcoming and genuinely helpful — you can tell they love what they do. Whether you’re a local or a visitor looking for something different from the usual Vegas experience, The Writer’s Block is absolutely worth the stop. Support local, grab a book, and enjoy a spot that truly has heart. Highly recommend! 📚✨
