The museum is free to enter, and special exhibit tickets are really affordable at $10/person. Sadly much of the museum (January 2026) is closed for renovation. I had only an hour and was able to run through and see the highlights for most of the current exhibits, except notably the glass section. The museum is relatively small, and again with only a small number of exhibition rooms being open. I appreciated the large, open Antiquities room with Egyptian, Greek, Roman and more exhibits. The large, Nevelson sculpture was really a treat to see, especially with the intentional blue lighting. The soaring Nouguchi was also a nice surprise because I've never seen a human figure work from this artist. The hall surrounding the theater with tastefully colorful abstract paintings on the walls by LeWitt were worth the deadend experience I had. The outdoor sculptures surrounding the museum pop up 360° around the museum and would constitute a lovely stroll, weather permitting. If you're in town, have a few extra hours, and want to do something indoors, the Toledo Museum of Art is a good place to visit. I also snagged a pair hexagon shaped cufflinks by David Shrigley, with STOP on one, and IT on the other at a 60% discount in the museum store!
The family center is outstanding if you have kids. U just walk in ( although u can reserve online ) and make crafts for free!! All the ladies there are very helpful and clean up after you as well and help you with anything u need. They provide all the items for the craft and u get to take them home! They also encourage adults to do it too which i admit I have a lot of fun. There is another room with toys and sitting areas for parents . Got to check it out !
Hello future tourist… I recommend this museum. From start to finish the staff is very welcoming. Is great to take the family, friends, or simply go on a date with your significant other. The atmosphere is very clean and organized. I did enjoy that every so often they have new exhibits to view. They also have an area for special events one can have. That was pretty neat too. Now, across from the museum they have Glass Pavilion . They have neat glass art displays. Also, you could see staff members working on new glass projects. I really enjoyed my experience. I hope you like it as much as I did.
The museum is beautiful and has a wide variety of art to check out. The staff were super friendly too. One offered to take a photo of our group and another told us a bit of background information about a piece we found interesting. Overall, it was a great experience, and it's awesome that admission is free!
Amazing place to visit especially if you're looking for something free to do in the area! There's plenty of amazing pieces in there. (There are pay to see exhibits as well I'd recommend buying the tickets beforehand if you can but the free exhibits were stunning to)
