It looks like I'm the 1000th review... no pressure... I popped in today for lunch and coffee with my partner, Emma, and our little dog, Millie. What a great little cafe - friendly atmosphere, the food (we had a toasties) were really tasty, as was the garnish. The coffee was fantastic - one of the best I've had. And the cakes were also really nice (Maltesar rocky road and Victoria sponge). We'll definitely be back and we'll also recommend it to guests of holiday lets in Cardiff.
This has become one of my favourite spots for people-watching, reading, and doing some work on my laptop. The baristas are pleasant, and service is quick. I would definitely recommend this to any other students who enjoy an ambient coffee shop to study in before, after, or between lectures.
I've been here twice and it's a good experience. Any old cafe to get work done and catch up with friends. I always get the mocha and it's was good perfect amount of chocolate and coffee. The service is decent like any cafe respectful and nice. The atmosphere is perfect, dim and cosy. Definitely recommend visiting!
Tucked away in the heart of Cardiff, Uncommon Ground is one of those rare finds that gets everything right. The coffee is exceptional—clearly roasted and brewed with care—and there’s real passion behind every cup. The team are welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic, which adds to the warm, relaxed vibe of the place. Their menu is surprisingly varied for a coffee roastery, offering a thoughtful mix of classics and creative options, all delivered with quality and consistency. Whether you’re in for a quick espresso or a leisurely brunch, this place delivers on all fronts.
Overall ok I’m sorry to say. The service was lovely and very polite fun and helpful, which is why this is not a lower review in all honesty. Poached eggs on toast for £8 I do expect the eggs to have been made properly, in boiled water not an egg mould and I also expect them to be runny. Given that 6 eggs all came out hard we didn’t bother to send the food back. Coffee was good and orange juice came from a bottle which at there prices was unexpected.
