Did not show — Lied, was dismissive and rude. We had our wedding on July 12 of this year. Months prior, I booked chairs from Unique Party Rental and communicated multiple times with Simon Marwa, the business owner. We confirmed the wedding date several times, and about three months out, we even met at the venue to go over logistics. Everything seemed good, and Simon agreed to have the chairs delivered and set up by noon on the day of the wedding. Fast forward to July 12. I arrived at the venue around 12:15 PM—no chairs. Our day-of coordinator hadn’t received any updates from Unique Party Rental, and began calling them—no answer. Eventually, they called back saying they had a flat tire and would arrive at 12:40 PM. Frustrating, but understandable. But by 12:45, there were still no chairs. More calls—no response. Around 1:00 PM, they called back and said they weren’t coming at all and would issue a refund instead. Our coordinator told them they needed to bring the chairs, but after more waiting, nothing changed. At 1:10 PM, we told them not to come. Thankfully, our venue had an emergency backup set of chairs, which saved the day. My now-wife and I decided to wait a week to allow time for Simon to reach out, and resolve the issue with us via a refund, but no call ever came. I had to follow up with Simon multiple times to get our refund. He was slow to respond and dismissive, even saying that he wishes we “would have called to remind him to bring the chairs.” A month later, when I called to confirm the refund came through and asked about compensation for the stress and the extra cost of the venue chairs, Simon finally apologized—but also changed his story, saying a system error caused the no-show. That means the original flat tire excuse was a lie. He offered to pay half of the extra money we had to spend. I told him I didn’t think that was fair due to the fact that we had family and friends waiting around in the sun for a long time, in addition to the stress, and setting our wedding back over half an hour. Plus, he lied to us, which he refused to acknowledge. I began to tell him we would be more apt to write a better review if he would be willing to take responsibility, when he suddenly interrupted me, started yelling at me, accused me of threatening him with a review, and hung up. That was the end of it. Some people may have had decent experiences with Unique Party Rental—but based on mine, I strongly recommend you don’t take the risk.
I wish to express my sincere appreciation to Unique Party Rentals. During our clients appreciation day, UPR delivered exceptional services beyond and above. They delivered and setup the tent in a timely manner, chairs and tables were clean. I will definitely use this company again.
Had a wedding today and reserved chairs for outdoor seating. Unique Party Rentals never delivered and did not send any communication. After we followed up several times, they just asked if we still wanted the chairs or a refund. No apology and absolutely no responsibility for their clients. Highly highly do not recommend this place. Maybe book them if you have an event you don't care about or if you want to spend money to never get your service.
I needed 100 chairs in less than 24 hours for my mom's funeral. While all the other party rental places were "booked up", Simon and his team made special accommodations for my family. They showed up 20 minutes early, laid out the perfect setup and were absolutely excellent! Pick up was right on time. I'm looking forward to working with them again and would give them 6 stars if I could. Thanks Unique!!!
I liked the variety of inventory and the delivery option, but that's about where it stopped. Half of the time, they didn't answer the phone (voicemail option didn't work properly either). When I could speak with someone, I didn't feel very comforted that things were being documented very well. Prices on their website are not totally accurate so be aware. Delivery was over an hour late and he even forgot part of my order. He did come back within the hour with the remainder, but it was dirty and needed to be cleaned on site. This put the event 2 hours behind. Pick up was also almost 2 hours later than he said. When he came to pick up the rentals, he parked in the neighbor's driveway like it was no big deal. And after all of that, I was still charged full price. The whole experience just felt very unprofessional and unorganized and left me stressed out and annoyed.
