I retained Varghese Summersett for my divorce and worked primarily with attorneys Kate and McKenzie. While my divorce was ultimately finalized, the overall experience left me feeling unheard, dismissed, and abandoned at a critical time. Throughout my case, I repeatedly asked what my next steps were, especially regarding custody, and was given little to no guidance. Eventually, I was told I was “noncommunicative,” despite actively reaching out for clarity and direction. I was left without representation and without a clear path forward, even though I am still actively fighting for custody of my daughter. Most troubling, my concerns about domestic violence were not acknowledged. My ex-husband attempted to kill me and physically harmed our daughter, yet these facts were never meaningfully addressed or advocated for. That omission has had lasting consequences. I am now in the position of needing to find new legal help to pursue full custody and protect my child. While I appreciate the completion of the divorce itself, the lack of advocacy, communication, and acknowledgment of serious safety issues made this an incredibly disappointing experience. I do not recommend working with Kate or McKenzie if you need to feel supported, heard, or guided, especially in a custody matter involving abuse.

I would like to extend my deepest thanks and gratitude to Mike Hanson and the Varghese Summersett firm. My wife and I were victims of ID theft and the scammers made it look as if we were the ones doing the illegal activity. We reported it to the police, closed our bank accounts and credit cards, but the State still felt the need to try and prosecute us for the wrong doings of others. We were referred to Mike and he listened to our story and worked diligently gathering proof that showed that we were innocent and that everything happened just as we said it did. In fact the firm was completely behind us after all the proof had been brought to light. My wife and I are law abiding citizens who have no criminal record and have never been in trouble with the law. We felt that the District Attorney's office doesn't really care if you're innocent or not, they just want a win under their belt, no matter what the cost. This case against us was a true misuse of the justice system. No one could understand why we the victims were being treated like the criminals. No one should have to go through what we went through.
