VASA at 43rd has been my home gym for 2.5 years now and wouldn’t go anywhere else. The staff makes the place even better, shoutout Jamal for always making me and bestie laugh and feel right at home! Everyone should go here, but don’t crowd my gym.
I’ve been a member of this gym for a while, and while the staff is generally friendly and the facility has good potential, the lack of timely equipment repairs is extremely frustrating. Several machines have been out of order for weeks—some even months—without any clear updates or urgency to fix them. This significantly limits workout options, especially during peak hours when the remaining equipment is crowded. For a gym that charges regular membership fees, maintaining functional equipment should be a priority. Until repairs are handled more promptly, it’s hard to justify the cost or recommend this gym to It’s impressive how every response expresses regret, while simultaneously ensuring that NOTHING ever actually changes!
I recently visited the VASA Fitness at 43rd and Thunderbird for a 3-day trial that I found on their website. Overall, the facility is quite large—spanning over 60,000 square feet—and provides a wide variety of amenities like the boutique STUDIO RED and STUDIO LFT spaces, which are prominent features of their "Studio" level membership. On a positive note, the gym was impressively clean and well-organized. The free weight area was tidy, and the Olympic platforms were clear of chalk and debris. I also noticed that the "Revive" area was in great shape; the massage chairs and tanning beds were spotless and fully functional. While the pool and hot tub were open, the sauna and steam room were closed for maintenance, which was clearly indicated by large signs on the pool deck. However, the experience with the staff was inconsistent. Since no one was wearing a name tag, I spoke with the personnel manager on duty. When I arrived, he was discussing the conversion of the cinema room into a new group exercise space with some members. While he was polite and gave me a very quick verbal rundown of the layout, a formal guided tour was never offered. I was essentially left to wander the facility on my own to figure out where the different amenities were located. The sales process felt unpolished as well. I had to proactively ask for membership information. There weren’t any brochures or business cards available, so the manager printed out a basic price sheet for me. He gave a very brief explanation of the three tiers—Basic ($9.99), Fitness ($19.99), and Studio ($39.99)—but did not dive into the specific value of each or help determine the best fit for my routine. My biggest concern was the front desk coverage. A second employee was on his phone for about 60% of the time I was there, and at several points, the front desk was completely empty while the manager was elsewhere in the gym. It felt insecure to have the main entrance unmonitored for those stretches. While the facility is well-kept, the lack of proactive engagement and professional follow-through made the visit feel underwhelming.
It was my first time coming to this gym. I paid for a day pas. I'm a truck driver that parked behind the gym. This is a very nice, clean, comfortable gym. The staff is very nice. The pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and locker room was very clean. I will definitely come back and refer my friends.
I've been going here for months now. This has to be by far my most favorite gym. It's better in my opinion compared to the competition. I go in the mornings, and it is never busy. The afternoon and evenings are different story. This is by far the cleanest gym I've been to. All of the staff are good at remembering faces. They are very polite and professional. They frequently walk around and check the facility for any discrepancies that may have occurred. The showers are clean for being public gym showers. Restrooms are always clean when im there. The pool appears to be in good working order. Steam and sweat lodge are clean and well kept. All the equipment is clean, and you have a very good diverse set of equipment throughout the gym. As well to me it is very organized. The layout of the facility is pretty cool. Like you have your runner cardio section that is massive. Very neat cross fit area with synthetic grass. Machines in the middle. The movie theater for cardio is fun. Dumb bells, barbells, and power racks are in the back. And that's a good size area over there. I don't have the cool membership, but I think I say tanning and group classes on like Zumba or something. They have their own classes on both sides of the gym. As well in the back a cycle room. The basketball court has members in there all the time. All appear to be having fun. I've never seen a fights or issues in there compared to the other gyms in the valley. If you're looking to get away from the other chain gyms. This might be a good option for you.
