I want to take the time to thank this amazing team. The amount of empathy, sympathy, and the extreme care for not only my dog but my family did not go unnoticed. I highly recommend this establishment, THE team, Julia and the Doctor that cared so much about my Bobo to the other nurse who came with gentle hands. I came in frantic, stressed about my financial situation and overwhelmed about my Frenchie feeling helpless. This team went above and beyond and I have never seen any other team anywhere be this caring and real!!!!bring your pets here because you will be in the best hands!!!! 10 out 10 care with an expertise that brings you comfort!
I have a senior cat who is medically complex and manages several chronic conditions, which has unfortunately meant multiple visits to VEG ER on Duke in Alexandria. Each time, I’ve been incredibly impressed by the professionalism, compassion, and quality of care provided by the entire team. I’d especially like to recognize Dr. Hilson, who has cared for my cat on several occasions, including during a three-day hospitalization. Dr. Hilson is exceptionally thorough, calm, and compassionate—qualities that matter immensely during such emotional and stressful situations. I truly trust that my cat is receiving the best possible care under his guidance. I’ve also had consistently wonderful interactions with the veterinary technicians and assistants. They are kind, attentive, and go out of their way to make both pets and pet parents feel as comfortable as possible in what is often a very overwhelming experience. I’m deeply grateful for this team and the care they provide.
Dr. Adams and her team of techs were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. From what started as a mini relaxing vacay turned into complete disaster when our pup would not stop vomiting. VEG Alexandria was the only place open at 2:30am. They took us in and triaged right away. The vet was very thorough with her exam and recommendations. The team explained everything very well and they even sent us home with a care package of some supplies because we were on vacation. I cannot recommend them enough 1000/10!
I am extremely thankful for the care my cat received here. The staff took care of her immediately and made sure she was safe and stable until I arrived. They allowed me to stay with her all the time! And even prepared bed for me, that meant everything to me during such a terrifying moment. Everyone was incredibly kind and supportive They supported me emotionally, and they supported my cat medically with so much care and compassion. I felt that she was truly in safe hands. I will always be grateful for the way they treated her and the way they treated me as well.
I came here on Friday night as my dog had a laceration on her paw that was in bad shape despite ER visits at other hospitals days prior. I was overwhelmed by how well this place is run—the layout of the hospital is unlike anything I’ve seen before…everything is visible to everyone. Dr. Beckford was fantastic—really appreciate her thorough diagnosis of my pup. Morgan and the other vet tech whose name I unfortunately forget were also wonderful and treated my pup like their own. During my time here there were three serious emergencies that rushed in and all the less serious cases were dropped and all hands were on deck for the actively dying patients—It was sad, but awesome to see the prioritization of the animals who were in 10x worse condition than my pup was. They also have free snacks, drinks, and charging stations for electronic devices. Thank you all so much for taking such great care of us!
