Came here for a lunch date and wow! New favorite thai spot. Everything was so well balanced with flavor, batter to meat ratio and juicy! Totally coming back to try out the other dishes and excited to introduce this spot to our friends :) We got lucky with street parking right in front!
stumbled upon Vela while looking for a place to eat on Christmas. Found them on open table. Food looked good and Thai brunch seemed interesting. we ordered roti dip, stuffed French toast, velo omelette with duck, massaman short rib, thai iced coffee, lychee lemonade, & hot coffee. Everything was really good. I like Thai food and most of the Thai restaurants in the bay area are good, but vela definitely stood out & above your average Thai restaurant. I have been to Son & Garden in Menlo Park, which imo is more for the gram and the food was ok but presented beautifully. I was really surprised at how good Vela was & prices were reasonable. Service was great & they were very attentive. I talked to the staff & they had only been opened for 2.5 months. I was telling them the only thing missing to make this a hot spot for brunch was alcohol and they told me they are working on getting their liquor license and hopefully should be available in 3 weeks or so. They also mentioned that there are different items on the dinner menu. I highly recommend you give this place a try.
Loved everything at Vela Brunch & Thai Restaurant. The food was flavorful, beautifully plated, and felt like Thai comfort food with a modern twist. Kor Moo Yang were juicy, Vela omelette were rich and creamy, and even the veggies were super fresh. I also highly recommend the Mok Pla, one of their special menu items — 10/10, must try! Service was amazing too — friendly, attentive, and made us feel really taken care of❤️❤️ Such a cozy spot, would definitely come back!!
Great place 10/10 for food. Service can be a bit slow and out of sync depending on what you order. The place is very basic, feels like they should upgrade or move as the food is really good. Will visit again to try other stuff
Delicious food and amazing service! So glad that a new Thai spot opened up near us. Food came out quickly and they were super friendly. My favorites were the pad thai and nam khao. Can’t wait to come back to try other foods!
