I like Virtu Academy. My violin teacher has been excellent and I enjoy my lessons. The website is mostly ok, but there seem to be technical mistakes sometimes with billing and rewards. Customer service has always been responsive and helpful at resolving issues though.

I would avoid this company as they have very shady business practices. We had an initial lesson and they automatically singed me up for another lesson or hour without my consent. It being the holiday and me and my children are sick, they reached out for me to pay for the lesson I did not book. I told them I think it is overpriced, I did not confirm (I have the emails to confirm the conversation). They charged me for this lesson and refuse to issue a refund. This is outright fraud. I will be contacting my lawyer and the better business bureau, they shouldn’t be allowed to operate.

Update in response to Ben, co-founder of Virtu.Academy: What you're saying is categorically false and I have proof. I have uploaded screenshots showing the credits currently in my account. You claim they hold the same value based on your current pricing after the sale ended and your prices increased significantly over the past four years. However, this contradicts your website’s clear statement that “credits never expire.” Additionally, I’ve attached a screenshot of the last email I received from you, Ben, dated July 17th. It is now August 1st, and I have sent multiple follow-up emails since then, all of which have gone unanswered, as shown in the screenshots. ---------------- Original Review ----------------------- Virtu Academy falsely advertises on their website that "credits never expire" — but mine vanished. I bought 8 credits from them a few years ago, reassured by their claim that credits would never expire. After not using my account for a while (4 years), I logged back in to find my 8 credits mysteriously reduced to 0. When I reached out, they told me the credits were now only worth 4 because their rates had gone up — ignoring the fact that I purchased my credits on sale, at the pricing available at the time. Despite their misleading advertising, they refused to reinstate the 8 credits I paid for. I’ve now contacted them four times asking for a refund, and have received no response at all. They were responsive before, but now it's complete radio silence. This company does not stand by its own policies, and their customer service has been incredibly disappointing.

My son is learning piano with Gabriel Palansc. Previously, he had done three years of in-person lessons. When we moved last summer, I found out that there was a wait list for the one piano teacher in the area, so we decided to give online lessons a try. My son is making so much more progress now! Additionally, the support team at Virtu.Academy is great, they have been very responsive and helpful every time I've reached out to them.

My violin teacher Natalia B. is really great and attentive. We meet every week and she's always supporting me to reach my goals and I've made bounds of progress since working with here these past 6 months. She's really focused on getting the foundations and fundamentals right, so if you're interested in doing that work, Natalia is the teacher for you!
