Voodoo has been my partner and I’s regular for 3 years now. Have always found it to be a warm welcoming place with great music. Bar staff are fantastic also, warm and friendly with great service. We keep coming back for this reason. Have noticed a few snippy comments about the door staff. I think people need to realise that their job is not to be your friend, they are not front of house staff in a restaurant and they work hard in what can be a challenging area in Belfast city centre to keep trouble from the bar. The toilets are as you would expect from a rock/alternative bar, i.e not a boutique hotel bar WC with fancy smelling soaps and Dyson hand dryers. It is what it is, expecting this is quite silly. The quality of drinks can be quite a subjective thing but we have had no issues. Nothing wrong with Bacarra or Lionel by the way rock snobs, the venue literally hosts a cheesy pop night most Saturday nights. Trust me, as a regular I can vouch that there is more than enough rock and metal played throughout the week. Agree on the dress code comments though, needs to be clearly stated at the front of the bar to save confusion.
Been to Voodoo several times for gigs this year. Super venue and the staff are very helpful. Unfortunately the gigs are upstairs which potentially could have been a problem for us. We needed wheelchair access for my wife. She was able to get up the stairs while I carried her chair for her. This was the only issue we had but the venue did their very best to accommodate us. All round I'd recommend Voodoo to all my friends for gigs and atmosphere 👍
Voodoo Belfast is a vibrant spot for live music and nightlife! With its edgy vibe, cool decor, and diverse events, it’s perfect for a night out. The drinks are great, staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is electric—especially during gigs. A go-to venue for music lovers in Belfast!
This place is great for live rock shows, excellent sound mix through the mains. My wife and I went two nights for the Crypt of the Riff Festival, July 5th and 6th, had a blast, met cool friendly folks, musicians, and the bartenders so nice. 100 percent recommend!!
