I went to Wax Candy a multiple times last week to get various body waxes and had an amazing experience! I’ll start of by saying that I’m very self-conscious about my body hair. Once I got a bikini wax done at a popular waxing salon chain, and the comments made by my esthetician about my amount of body hair made me feel very insecure and almost “dirty”. It was incredibly an embarrassing experience for me. For this reason, I’m very picky about where I go to get myself waxed and I do a lot of research beforehand. I was in the Long Beach area for a cruise, and realized the day before that I had forgotten to get my underarms and legs waxed. I tried booking online with Wax Candy but couldn’t get an appointment slot so I just called and asked if I could walk in. Wax Candy was very accommodating with the fact that I did a walk-in appointment at the last minute for urgent hair removal for multiple parts of my body. Myisha did my underarms, tummy, and tushy waxes. She was super professional and made me feel comfortable with getting waxed. I really appreciated her not making any comments on my body hair or the fact that I’d literally came in to my appointment almost straight from the airport (so I didn’t exactly look the best either). I also worked with Ivy to get my legs waxed. She made me feel really comfortable too and I actually got to learn a lot about the Long Beach area by talking to them both! None of the waxes I got hurt much at all. I was actually really surprised by this, because I get waxed regularly and am used to it being a painful process. Both Myisha and Ivy are very clearly professionals, and it shows in their ability to wax hair so quickly that you barely feel it at all! Overall I had a great experience and if I had to rank all the waxing salons I’ve been to, this one would be at the top of the list. I honestly wish that all waxing salons and estheticians could be this easy to work with. Thank you Myisha and Ivy for all your help, and if I’m ever in the Long Beach area again, I’ll definitely be stopping by!
Ivy is awesome! I get my brows done pretty infrequently but when I do, it will be with her.
1 hr and 30’min. I was told by the receptionist Ange had left AFTER ONLY 1 min past my grace period. Even though I called to inform I was having a hard time finding parking, I really wish this could have Ben handled differently. VERY FRUSTRATING & DISAPPOINTING!
I recently had my first waxing experience, and I’m so glad I chose Wax Candy. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel comfortable and welcomed. The atmosphere was relaxing, and they took the time to explain the entire process, so I knew exactly what to expect. Ivy was professional and really put me at ease, making sure I was comfortable throughout. As a first-timer, I was nervous about the pain, but the technician was quick and efficient, which made it much more manageable than I anticipated. The aftercare tips were also helpful, and I left feeling smooth and refreshed. I was impressed with how clean and organized the salon was, and the results are fantastic! I will definitely be coming back for my next session. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to try waxing for the first time!
I had my first Brazilian wax in college over 15 years ago, and it was such a horrible experience that I never wanted to go back. Finally, I decided to give it another try and booked an appointment with Myisha—and wow, am I glad I did! Myisha is truly amazing at what she does. She’s so kind, patient, and incredibly skilled. She made me feel comfortable right from the start and turned what I thought would be an ordeal into a positive experience. I not only got a Brazilian but also my legs and eyebrows done, and I’m thrilled with the results. I’m already looking forward to going back for more services, including trying underarms next time. If you’re nervous about waxing, Myisha is the person to see! Highly recommend!
