I'm glad I took my car to this place. Very professional and they were great about everything. Once they saw what was wrong with my car they handled it and showed me what they were going to do and I'm very happy I took it there. Thank you guys at Access Transmission
I would not trust these folks and will never use them again. My story is so long I hate to tell it but feel I must. 1st they rebuilt a transmission for my 1999 Suburban which failed. I was 4 hours away when it failed. They told me I had to get it back to them to warranty it and only gave me $250 towards a $1000 tow/ transport. Next the transmission started acting up in a Dodge 3500 they had rebuilt. I was 17 hours away. I had to ship it to them for $1800 and buy a truck to continue my trip. The owner had agreed to split the shipping. When they received it they said nothing was wrong with it . I'm sure they just fixed what was wrong to get out of splitting the shipping then lied about it. Speculation yes but I will never trust them. There advice when I called was just keep drinking it until it fails. What would it have cost me then? I was on my way to Alberta Canada to go on a $20000 hunting trip that was paid for in advance. If I got stranded in the middle of nowhere I would have been up a creek! I'm disappointed that the manager and the owner both that I spoke to could not troubleshoot the issue a little better over the phone. If they had told me drive to the nearest transmission shop even if it's 3 or 4 hours away and have them check the .........., it would have saved me $13000 in damages. Do a quick AI search on the problem and it tells you the likely cause and how it could have been easily fixed. Unfortunately I did not think of that at the time but you would think the transmission "professionals" would have. And in response to there response here is a copy of another review I left. Not happy with service. I communicated well on the importance of having my speedometer done and shipped back promptly in time for a 5000 mile trip. When they finished the $150 service they wanted $65 S & H for something that cost me $10 to ship to them. When I questioned them they said I could provide them a label instead . I did so on a Thursday telling them it needed to be shipped Friday but they did not ship Friday. I had to take my trip without a speedometer.
I don’t normally write reviews, but what my wife and I have experienced with Transmission Access has been devastating—both emotionally and financially. We trusted this shop. We trusted their word, their reputation, and their promise that a $4,000 repair would finally solve the transmission issues we were dealing with. Instead, what we received was months of stress, repeated breakdowns, and a car that is still not fixed. Not even three days after picking up our vehicle, my wife and I found ourselves stranded on the side of I-10, headed east from San Antonio. It was frightening, frustrating, and heartbreaking, especially after investing so much money believing the problem had been taken care of. We brought the car back to Transmission Access, costing us even more time and money. They told us they’d “take a look.” Days later, they claimed they couldn’t find a single issue and even said they drove the vehicle 500 miles to make sure everything was fine. Yet somehow, every problem we experienced on the road never showed up in their shop. This happened not once, not twice, but at least three different times. In the most recent visit, they kept the car for more than five days. They finally said that they replaced the range sensor. But just a few weeks after the car is back in our hands? The transmission problems return. Without fail. Now, more than two months later, we are still dealing with the same unresolved transmission issues we paid them thousands of dollars to fix. The emotional toll, the financial strain, the repeated breakdowns—it has all been exhausting and deeply disappointing. We put our trust in Transmission Access, and they failed us every step of the way. If you are considering bringing your vehicle here, please think twice. Our experience has been nothing short of heartbreaking.
I definitely can’t say enough about this place. They’re absolutely an outstanding shop. I have dealt with them for 3 of my personal transmission rebuilds and repairs. Darrin and his staff have delivered every signal time. I deal with Access Transmission on a daily basis with work and their turn around time is always short. As busy as they are every single day. They don’t seems to skip a beat. They have been in service for a long time and I can definitely see why. I plan to continue bringing my business to Access for years to come. Thank you again for the quick turn around time with my repairs.
As a new customer, l was pleased with the work on my transmission. It was a reasonable price, and quick service. I gave it 4stars because when the parking lot is full the car is parked in a dusty field out back. There are low bumps and if you are not careful you could ruin a spoiler or fender. I got my car back with dust on it and yes Darrin, it had finger prints on the windows. Don't take me wrong. Darrin was helpful, and listen to my all needs. They are good people who know their job, quick and dependable, but a few minor errors. If l had transmission problems with my other vehicles, l would take it here at Access. I changed my star review. I felt that third time would be a charm. Took my transmission back because it is still leaking. If they did an overhaul seals, speedometer cable, shouldn't leak. Came home and transmission was over serviced. I give them one star. Also came home with dust and finger prints.
