We came here to celebrate my nephew's 18th birthday. So we were a group of 16. The service was awesome even for such a big group. I ordered the wagyu short rib fried rice, and it was delicious. It had great flavor and was very filling. I also ordered the California roll, but others ordered more intriguing types of sushi which looked amazing. They told me the Rainbow sushi roll was exceptionally good. I look forward to exploring more of the Wheeler District area. Akai was a great place to start, so check it out!

This was such a wonderful experience! I celebrated my daughter's birthday there, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious, and the presentation was truly a wonderful experience! Although it took a little while for my husbands meal to come out it was worth the wait!

I love the selection of sushi. The nigiri was amazing. I liked the freshness of the seaweed salad. We had a saki flight and I was pleasantly surprised by which one was my favorite. I highly recommend trying it. They do not have a printed gluten-free menu, but the waiter has a list on his phone of what is available gluten-free. Ask to take a screenshot when you sit down if you need that. They tell me plans are in the works to actually print that out or modify the menu in the future. I love the style of the lights and the decor, but they should dim the lights just a bit. The music is upbeat and fun, but I would love something a little more vibey and downtempo to fit with the beautiful decor in the dining area. I didn’t use the bar, but it looks lively and there are TVs available to watch sports. It is on the backside of a wall from the dining area, so the TVs do not spoil the dining experience. If you’re looking for a romantic dim lit vibe, ask to sit on the far side of the room, the tables on the back side of the bar wall are lit with bright hanging lamps- great if you are trying to snap pics of your food. 😀 The matcha crème brûlée was delightful, but a small portion, so you might not want to share.

A group of friends and I had an amazing evening here! We went on a Monday night and sicne we had a group, were allowed to sit in the dining area as long as we ordered at the bar. What an experience. Staff is incredibly attentive and kind and let us order a few items not on the Monday night menu as it was available. Every single food item we ordered was divine. Amazing drinks. Worth every penny. Their crispito tacos and the matcha crème brûlée were a true stand out to me. We also got to enjoy a run of Karaoke, which I hope they continue on in the future!

Nice chill ambiance. We were expecting more sushi on the menu, not as many rolls avaliable to choose from for what we'd like. Service was good up until we were forgotten about. Waited a lot longer than we'd like for the check (we had to ask for it). Quality of what we order was good tho. We liked everything that we ordered. It is more on the pricy side but I think the quality and restaurant vibe matched that.
