Both my mother and I had a fantastic experience at And Something Blue. We cannot recommend it enough. After an unfortunate tailoring error, I came to the shop with an uneven hem and only 3 weeks out my wedding. All my worries and stresses were erased and I am happy to say my dress is gorgeous and fixed. We should have came here in the first place and I regret not picking And Something Blue. I was even given an extremely fair price for immediate help and appointments that fit my schedule. Not only did my dress turn out wonderfully, my mother’s dress was hemmed and she is extremely pleased with our experience as well. When you walk into And Something Blue, you can feel confident knowing you’re in amazing hands, whether you need alterations or are searching for the perfect dress.
I used "And Something Blue" for my wedding dress alterations only after being recommended the shop from Lace and Liberty. While they did alter my dress appropriately, the attitude from the people working there was not great. I brought in my dress for alterations and was told that "I couldn't gain a single pound more" while they were pinning it. I found this extremely rude given that my dress was already tailored specifically to my body type. I also received a critique on my dress that I did not ask for, specifically that the exposed boning looked bad, and that I should cover it up. Part of the reason I picked my dress was because I loved the boning, so hearing this was surprising. Someone else trying the dress in shop also had a dress on with exposed boning, and was told it looked beautiful on them. Additionally, when I showed up for an additional minor alteration after taking my dress home, given I didn't have an appointment, I was told by the woman working the front desk to check with the alterations department in the back. I went to the back, without an escort, and was promptly told to "go away" by the woman working there. I did not end up making the additional alteration. While I understand there is a bit of a language and cultural difference with the people working there, I do expect some level of professional communication even if the person using your services is not there to buy a dress from you.
Such an wonderful experience at ASB and I would be remiss not to give a huge shout out to Mandi who was phenomenal at both of my appointments. ASB was my first experience in wedding dress shopping and it was a night and day experience at the other salons I went to- they set the bar in customer experience! Mandi was warm from the moment I came in with my family and truly set the tone for the great experience. She was attentive, warm, and so fun to talk to in between all the dresses I tired on. Big plus also is that you are able to go around with your guests and select the different dresses you are interested in trying on versus only having the stylist choose for you which I experienced elsewhere and didn't love. I left after my first time there convinced I found my dress and following a second visit to confirm, was able to say yes to the dress! Truly top notch customer experience. Thank you so much Mandi for providing me and my family such an amazing and special experience!
We paid $150 for a 90-minute bridal appointment and, unfortunately, left feeling disappointed. Although we came ready to purchase and even return for a second look, the experience with our assigned sales rep ultimately changed our minds. From the moment we walked in, the tone was off. Without any introductions, we were greeted with, *“We are running late. You’ll be waiting awhile,”* and were given no further direction. We wandered around on our own until it was time to be seated. They did graciously open a bottle of Prosecco for a quick toast, but after that, the appointment felt rushed, impersonal, and almost procedural. There was no overview of what to expect—no explanation of how many dresses we could try, how the process would work, or any guidance. It was simply: try this on, give a thumbs up or down, and move on. At one point, the rep made an abrupt and uncalled-for remark to one of our guests. We chose not to respond, hoping to preserve whatever experience the bride could still have. The best way to describe the appointment is that it felt like a “bridal factory line.” For such a special moment—and especially for the price—we expected a more thoughtful, welcoming, and supportive experience. Sadly, that wasn’t the case.
