I have to share a truly wonderful experience I had today with Dr. Richmond and her tech, Ryan. My dog has a chronic skin condition and recently had a severe flare that resulted in a lesion that wouldn’t heal. I was deeply concerned. After visiting three veterinarians in the West Valley where I live, none were able to offer a solution. Out of pure desperation, I made the 75-minute drive from Sun City to Gilbert. Years ago, when I lived on the East side, I had taken my previous dog to this practice to see Dr. Ford and always had wonderful experiences. Dr. Ford wasn’t available this time, and the receptionist offered an appointment with Dr. Richmond, who was new to me. As an acupuncturist who treats people, holistic care for my dog is very important to me, and since Dr. Richmond practices alternative veterinary medicine, I decided to take the appointment. I’m so glad I did. Dr. Richmond was amazing. She provided a clear, thoughtful assessment of my dog’s skin condition and offered simple, non-pharmaceutical and non-invasive solutions. She spent a full hour with us reviewing my dog’s history, thoroughly examining her, and answering my questions. It was clear that she truly cares and truly knows her stuff. Both Dr. Richmond and Ryan were also wonderful with my highly anxious little dog. The entire environment is calm and soothing, which made such a difference for her. This was such a great experience that I will happily continue making the 75-minute drive for this level of compassionate, excellent veterinary care. Thank you so much!
It has taken me some time to write this review as I have been grieving the loss of my sweet Pepper and I knew writing this would draw up some emotions. I have nothing but kind words to say about Arizona Animal Wellness Center. I started taking my cat there when I first moved to the area in 2022. My cat had been losing weight and Banfield didn't do much digging into what was wrong. The problem was solved on my first visit here. It was determined that he had a hyperactive thyroid which was easily treatable with meds. About a year later, he was diagnosed with kidney disease and anemia (related to the kidney disease). Treating the anemia required regular vet visits. From summer 2023-Sept 2025, my cat had VERY frequent visits at the clinic. For a month he was there 2-3x per week and then we went down to twice monthly visits and eventually spread out to every other month-ish. I give all of that detail to say, EVERY member of the staff that I encountered here was friendly, helpful and frankly became like family to me. You would think that in 3 years someone would have a bad day or be unfriendly toward me or another client. Not here. And trust me, I spent TONS of time in their lobby. Dr. Chema was our main doctor. I knew she would be my favorite when she took me seriously about a drug for anemia that had just been FDA approved that could be administered at home. She actually read the study that I shared with her and helped me get my hands on the med. It ended up not working as well as the in-office treatment but she heard me out and gave me the pros/cons and allowed me to have some autonomy in my cat's treatment. She was also very fair, honest, and always made me feels she truly cared about my pet. She helped me determine courses of treatment that also considered the financial cost as well. In the end, I had to take my Pepper to an ER vet because it was Sunday and he took his last breaths there. The next day Dr. Chema called me to give her condolences and about a week later I received a card with a special note from each member of the staff that worked with Pepper. I mean, I seriously doesn't get better than that. It was beyond thoughtful! My sweet Pepper was 19 years old. I truly believe that with the help of this clinic, I was able to have as healthy as possible last 2 years with him. I had peace of mind every step of the way that I was doing what was best for my cat's treatment thanks to all the wonderful people here! I am so grateful to have found this clinic and would return if I ever get another pet in the future!
Just moved here a few months ago from out of state and needed to find a vet. As a vet tech of 15 yrs it is important to me to find a great hospital. I have been 3 times since moving here and each visit has been great. They are very organized, knowledgeable, and friendly. I appreciate their care to my pups. Communication after via text for lab results or refills is amazing as well. I would recommend to anyone! Thanks team for doing a great job- you are all appreciated for your hard work!
Outstanding Care for Lord Sparky at Arizona Animal Wellness! From my very first call with Nikki, I knew we were in great hands! Nikki was friendly, helpful, and made scheduling effortless. The check-in was quick and easy, making the visit stress-free for both me and my pup. The veterinarian was incredible—thorough, patient, and genuinely caring. I felt completely confident in my dog’s care. The vet tech was fantastic as well, gentle and attentive, making my dog feel comfortable the entire time. The entire team went above and beyond, and I couldn’t recommend Arizona Animal Wellness more highly. Compassionate, professional, and top-notch care—truly the best!
Came in for an emergency because my cat broke her toes. The staff was absolutely amazing and even comforted my 4 year old because she was terrified jinx wasn’t going to come back home like our cat we had to put down 2 years ago. The xray person even came in and talked to my 4 year old and showed her the X-rays and explained everything. They were so calm and took amazing care of our kitty. Cant recommend this place enough
