Good luck getting any help. I’m disabled, looking to buy a small shelving unit. Talk to an employee in the floor, they said someone would come help me love it, 30 minutes later no help, no response, nothing. Some I’m out the door with nothing to show for it, except 30 minutes lost. Total waste if just time.
Phillips Protective has worked for, volunteered for, donated to, and patronized AHFH for 2+ years. I can honestly say they are good people on an amazing mission. Highly recommend you try their ReStore on Ben White before you hit the big box builder supply stores. Save $$$ on the same products, and help out a great cause!
This place is fantastic! I was really impressed by the size and the selection — the photos truly speak for themselves. While some prices felt a bit on the higher side, I can also see that it takes resources to keep a store this clean, organized, and welcoming. One suggestion I have is to consider ways to increase the reuse or recycling of items that may not be sellable but are still too useful to throw away. For example, a small free area outside or occasional “free swap” events could help. I work at recycling centers in Copenhagen, Denmark, where we have free reuse sections, and it’s amazing to see how much community and creativity they inspire. Overall, a great experience and a place worth visiting and supporting!
This place is like a treasure hunt! Remodeling on a shoestring budget? ✔ Small update project? ✔ Miscellany, like door numbers, thresholds, replacement socket covers, switch plates, bulbs, etc. Doors, windows, even the kitchen sink! The key is, if you see something you like, buy it! The inventory changes daily since it is donated items & materials. Go and browse, then return periodically for awesome finds. If you're a DIYer, it's akin to heaven😉 Keep visisiting as often as works fir you for items, until you have it all. If you are a fan of thrift stores, this is the home version times 100. Drywall, plywood, beams, decking, tile, glass blocks, rugs? I've seen it all. Not to mention paint, furniture, butcher block s for use as custom countertops, dog houses or chicken coops. Happy shopping!
Summary: very nice employees, some super deals, other not so great deals, constantly changing and interesting inventory. The Details: This place is fun! If you are a DIYr or crafty in anyway, this place is a blank slate for materials to get your creative juices flowing. There are deals to be had but not everything is a treasure. There is also a lot of stuff that is near retail prices. Look for marked down items among the inventory mess. I got 6 boxes of flooring for $10 a box which was an amazing price for the product. Beware of the parking situation on the weekends, it can be a challenge after lunch hours.
