This is a great place to meditate and to get instructions and dharma talks by the resident monks / nuns. I highly recommend the Saturday morning meditation at 9:00.
This monastery is terrible. They are very rude . Against volunteer without respectful. Volunteer for the long time. Everyone will be seen. They shout to me. When I am streaming. Just like I insult. The monastery in purpose. Even I just accidentally. So I wrote 1 star. For this Avatamsaka monastery. They act as worst. 100% Respect for good people. 100% Rude for bad people. 100% No respect for bad people. 100% No rude for good people. This monastery is rude. 100% Rude outside = 100% Respect inside. 100% Respect outside = 100% Rude inside. Instead of Judaism concept. That it is 100% Good inside = 100% Good outside.
While not designed as a tourist experience, we were warmly welcomed to quietly look around and trusted to do this without supervision. It is peaceful and has a devout atmosphere. If I were staying in Calgary I might be interested in attending one of the sessions they advertise on their noticeboards.

I often come here for meditation class, a perfect place to take a break from the noise of daily life. The monastery provides a tranquil environment where I can find my inner peace through silent meditation or simply sitting in contemplation.
