Let me start by saying this was on New Year’s Eve. Our reservation was for 6:45 PM. When we arrived, the hostess seemed scattered—she was seating walk-ins while several of us with reservations waited for assistance. Once seated, our server was attentive, but the pacing of the meal was disappointing. It took a long time for our food to arrive, and guests who were seated after us were served first. Our entrées even came out before our appetizers. I sent back one of the entrées because the steak was cooked medium-rare instead of medium. The replacement dish was also served medium-rare. The visual of the undercooked beef made my mom nauseous, and she became sick when we got home. I on the other hand enjoyed my food. By the end of the meal, we had to rush through dessert just to make it to the 9 PM fireworks. Our server did comp one of our meals, which he didn’t have to do and was very much appreciated. The $35 three-course meal was a great value, but overall the experience still felt disorganized for such a special evening. A visit during a slower day will most likely provide a much better experience.
I was recommended this restaurant while travelling for business by a Denver local. I was told they have "the best margaritas in the city". We went on a weeknight about an hour before closing. No issues getting seating. Our server was great. Food was amazing! Drinks were top notch as well! Would definitely recommend a visit here. I got the tortilla soup as it was the coldest night of summer so far, and it was delicious. A lot of chicken and I love that it wasn't just all broth. They bring it to your table with just the chicken and bowl full of crunchy tortilla strips and then all of the toppings you see in the photo and the broth is in a separate container and they pour it on your bowl table side so your food isn't soggy when you receive it. loved this!!! And the presentation was beautiful!!
The chef or owner (can't remember which) has Celiac so they are super dedicated to a clean, safe, gluten free prep area which is amazing. The food was good, we ordered chicken tacos and buffalo chili, but the best part of our meal was the chorizo corn dip appetizer. Also the bar tender was so great in helping to make sure all of the ingredients in the cocktail I ordered were also gluten free. Thank you for making Celiac safe food!!
Solid happy hour on a Thursday evening! The basic marg wasn't super special (didn't taste very fresh), but no complaints at $6. They didn't have frozen when we went, but I'd be interested to try that. The guac that we ordered was very disappointing. Had essentially no flavor - adding some salt on myself made a world of a difference. The tacos were a different story. All were very tasty (we ordered the fried tilapia, adobo pork, pesto carnitas, and chili lime chicken (not pictured)). My girlfriend favored the tilapia bc of the mango salsa. I really liked the adobo pork with the sweet marinade. Four taco plates was overkill for the two of us, but overall pretty good value.
Solid Mexican meal, good service, nice spot. The food was very tasty and well made, nothing surprising or super unique, but solid. Margaritas were a high point - they will customize anything for you, make something special, etc. Service was mostly good -- we ate in the bar area and the poor bartender was waiting on a full bar, 10 tables in the bar area, and training a new guy that was struggling. Our server/bartender was working her tail off, but it was too much. But overall we did enjoy the meal and the restaurant as a whole. GENERAL MANAGER: Please just hire bussers to do water, clear plates, etc. It reduces stress on your servers and lets you turn tables faster!
