I have been attending classes 2-3 days a week at Raleigh’s Body & Brain Yoga since the fall of 2025. I have also been practicing Qigong and Tai Chi for decades, and never have I experienced the deep physical and spiritual openings like I have with each session here. Susan is a gentle and masterful teacher, who makes you feel like she is guiding you personally through the stretches, movements and meditation.
I’m truly grateful for discovering Body & Brain here in Raleigh. Starting Qigong has opened a completely new way for me to care for my body, my mind, and my overall well-being. I’ve learned how to ground myself, regulate my emotions, be more present, and reduce stress in a way that aligns with my values. A great example: on a recent Sunday at 2 p.m., right when class started, my Oura Ring showed my stress levels dropping all the way down into the “restored” zone. Even on a calm Sunday, Qigong helped me settle, recharge, and reset for the week. This practice has already made a real difference in my health, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something meaningful and effective.
Brain and Body Tai Chi and Yoga, Raleigh, is the exercise center I have been looking for my whole adult life without even knowing it. The second I finished my first introductory class, I signed up for a whole year! Two weeks later, my husband joined as well! The classes are simultaneously strengthening for your body while calming and centering for your mind. Unlike most exercise classes which I have to push myself to go to, I love doing them and try to get to as many as possible. Plus, I’ve stopped going to physical therapy because my B&B classes have been so healing and restorative and focus on much of what I was doing in PT. Susan, Ji-Mo, the owner/instructor is a perfect combination of knowledgeable, caring, motivating and challenging and the class community is a wonderful combination of all ages and walks of life yet with the common goal of mental and physical health and wellness. I am so incredibly grateful to have found the Raleigh Body and Brain center and know it’s going to part of mine and my husband’s lives well into our future.
I always feel better when I have been to a class at Body & Brain. The mindful physical movements and gentle stretching heal and energize my body. The mindfulness and focus that I get from this practice calms my mind and soothes my spirit on a regular basis.
The teacher is highly skilled and the classes are fantastic. A combination of strength training, balance, stretching and learning to heal your body if you have a weakness or injury. I would recommend for anyone who wants better overall health!
