My teenage son has been going to Ayla for a couple years now. She is wonderful! Always gives a consistent and perfect cut! Very sweet and talented!
Butch and Screwballs Barbers is a nice hometown barbershop that feels like family when you walk in. All the barbers have skills and you can’t wrong with either. I’ve been going to Memo for a while now but have been cut by Josh and the quality is always A1. Definitely worth the value of the price($45)
Great shop full of pros. After three years of searching for a good haircut after moving to Sac from Portland, I found my guy in Anthony G. I don't even have to describe what I need anymore, I just grab a seat and he takes care of business. Literally the best in Sac. Now, don't get me wrong--it's a barber shop and it's not a chain. There will be smack talk and some 'tude. That's how it works. Go to SportClips if you're looking to be pampered and an average haircut.
I've been going to Anthony for years, and over time, he's become more than just my barber, he's a friend. Not only is he the best barber I’ve ever had, but he's also incredibly smart and compassionate. I always leave his chair feeling better about life, looking sharp and having enjoyed meaningful conversation with a peer. I admit, my expectations are often unreasonably high, but Anthony consistently exceeds them.
I booked an appointment with Anthony G and want to start by saying he gave me a good haircut — technically, he knows what he's doing. However, the overall experience was disappointing due to his attitude. From the moment I approached him, his energy was cold and unwelcoming. I’m not sure if he was having a bad day, but the lack of friendliness really stood out. Getting a haircut is a personal experience — you’re trusting someone with your appearance — and a warm, respectful interaction goes a long way. When I tried to explain what I was looking for, he responded in a condescending way, even telling me, “You don’t make any sense.” I get that my wording might not have been precise — I’m not a barber — but I expected a bit more patience and professionalism. A simple follow-up question or clarification would’ve made all the difference. Bottom line: good haircut, but bad experience. I wouldn’t recommend him to others based on how I was treated. Anthony, if you’re reading this, I hope your day got better.
