Solid Vietnamese restaurant with a large menu. I went for the bbq pork broken rice plate while my wife had a bbq pork vermicelli bowl. The food itself was delicious. We came in with about an hour to close and they were cleaning the floors and many parts of the restaurant for the end of the day, which was not a big deal, except for the fact that they had big industrial fans everywhere to dry the floors, and they moved them to point towards us while we were eating. Not the most comfortable eating environment. But I will come back to give them another chance and rereview them after.
Com Tam Thanh delivers a focused, no-frills experience that’s all about the food. The grilled pork chop over broken rice is consistently flavorful—charred just right, tender, and well-balanced with pickled vegetables and a fried egg. The broken rice itself is soft but not mushy, absorbing the juices from the meat and egg without losing texture. Portions are generous without being overwhelming, and the plating is clean and practical. You won’t find trendy garnishes or fusion twists here—just straightforward Vietnamese comfort food that’s been perfected over time. The menu is compact but reliable, with regulars often ordering without needing to glance at it. Service is fast and efficient, especially for takeout. Orders are packed neatly, and the wait rarely exceeds ten minutes even during peak lunch hours. Staff are direct but courteous—there’s a rhythm to how they move, take orders, and call out names that reflects years of steady operation. The space is modest but clean, with tightly packed tables and a steady flow of Vietnamese-speaking patrons—a good sign of authenticity and community trust. It’s not a place for long conversations or lingering meals, but it’s ideal for a quick, satisfying bite that feels familiar and grounded. Payment is primarily cash, though card readers may be available—best to bring cash just in case, especially if you're ordering multiple items or visiting during busy hours.
Looking from the outside I was a little hesitant to go in. The right side of the building looks a little sketchy. Thankfully, I continued to the main entrance. I ordered the Broken Rice Plate with BBQ Pork (#16) and a side order egg roll. I was served 2 slices of pork. One slice was fatty and juicy which I loved. The other slice was lean, which was also flavorful. The egg roll was crispy with veggies in it. There was plenty of food and worth the price. I would highly recommend the #16 plate and look forward to trying the other items on the menu.
I was craving Vietnamese food, and after a quick search, I found this place. I'm so glad I did! From the moment you walk in, you can feel its authenticity (don't let the outside fool you). It looks small, but it's actually quite spacious, bright, and clean. The menu offers a variety of options, including enough vegetarian choices in my opinion. The prices are reasonable, especially in this economy, and the portions are pretty generous. If you're in the area, give it a try!
Was recommended by my Vietnamese American hairdresser to this restaurant for lunch. The lunch environment was tranquil and the guests were just chatting softly. Also, the restaurant is spacious and is suitable for a customer who needs to use a wheelchair. Food was good and tasted freshly made to me as well. Kudos to the mango vermicelli rolls and the peanut dipping sauce. All in all, it was a pleasant experience for me.
