This place is a joke for walk ins. I’ve gone in multiple times while waiting for a referral to an oral surgeon(that isn’t until end of December), to see about having only one of the 8 teeth I need removed, to be removed. It’s the most bothersome one, it’s very broken, my teeth got destroyed due to cancer. I recently did back to back antibiotics for dental stuff, that destroyed my gut health, and almost killed me, I wound up in the ER from it twice. The last couple times I’ve tried walk ins, I saw Craig Brandon, who told me he won’t remove the single tooth, because it’s “easier” for me to be in pain and wait until the end of December, than to have him quickly pull it right now. He gave me different excuses. At first it was because of the pain, then because it was “infected”, but he never looked at my mouth, and the print of the X-rays he gave me yesterday, were X-rays from September(the nurse took new pics yesterday too). He basically implied that I won’t get any teeth taken out during a walk in, when I *could* wait over another month. He said he was just going to prescribe antibiotics for the pain, and when I was trying to question about that, and talk about how the last rounds of antibiotics I did for dental stuff almost killed me(recovering cancer patient with bad health still), he WALKED OUT, in the middle of me talking about it. The most negligent dentist I’ve ever met honestly. Unless you’re white, I heard him telling someone who came in on a cancelled appointment next to me, that he’s gonna give them new front teeth today. I guess a person of color telling him that the pain he’s making me go through, makes me want to kill myself from the added stress and pain from everything I already deal with, I just got a stifled chuckle and a “I don’t recommend that “. But if you’re white, and not trans, sounds like he’ll do whatever he can for you.
Dr Porter was the best dentist I've ever had. He was so kind to me and he explained everything he was going to do and why he was going to do it before starting. I really appreciated that. I felt so comfortable asking questions, and he gave me great answers. Wonderful guy.
I have seen Dr. Porter 3 times now and I feel he is a fantastic dentist! I have very bad dental anxiety and Dr. Porter and his team work really well together in making me feel comfortable and relaxed in an environment that scares me. They use laughing gas, and they are very good at distracting with side conversation. I had to pay out of pocket and it was VERY AFFORDABLE. I really appreciate the extra time they take with me, making sure I'm "ok" before they work on me very gently.. as someone who has had bad experiences in the past with dentists, Dr. Porter has been the perfect dentist for me so far. Highly recommend!!!
Because this is a free community dental place that’s free they treat their patients very unkind. Just because a person has state medical does not mean they should be treated any differently than people paying out of pocket. The receptionist is very disrespectful and has no regard for empathy towards pt. I missed a check in window and not the appointment and was told I had to be rescheduled. When my appointment was at 7:30am. I arrived at 7:38am and was told I could not be seen. I would rather go broke paying for better services than to be treated this way.
