Did not show up to appointment even though I called 3 times and texted, and got an email confirmation for the appointment as well as a text one a couple hours before the said appointment. I got my extensions installed here, because they said it would be cheaper to get them fixed monthly in the long run, but now they just don’t respond. It’s really hard to find a place that fixes extensions if they weren’t installed at that salon, so I basically wasted my money choosing this place and have to redo the entire process. I’ve been trying to get my hair fixed here for the past two weeks as it is my birthday this weekend, and luckily found a place willing to help me after I told them what happened at this salon. I don’t have a car, and paid for two Ubers there and back for an appointment I was stood up for.
For context, I have been getting hair extensions for the past 5 years and recently moved to SD from the Bay Area. I have never written a negative review of a hair stylist, but this warrants it. Similar to what other upset and disappointed customers have said, I got my extensions done by the owner (Ediane Rodrigues) and had the worst hair/extensions experience I’ve ever had. She convinced me to buy new hair extensions from her using the sew in method, which I have never used before, as I usually do k-tips. The extensions she put in do not match my real hair color so it’s very obvious I have extensions in, the placement of the sew in extensions is bulky and not discreet, and most importantly they hurt so badly I’ve had a migraine since getting them put in. I reached out to Ediane the morning after she did my hair and asked if I could get them removed and if I could be refunded at least partially since I will be needing to get my hair extensions done elsewhere. Once I mentioned getting refunded, she started freaking out, yelling at me, and gaslighting me. This service cost a total of $900 and she said she’d refund me $50, which she claimed was the cost of installation. Additionally, she only accepted payment by Venmo/Zelle which I found sketchy and unprofessional…not sure how legitimate this “business” is. Thanks to Crawford Glam and specifically Ediane Rodrigues, I am $900 in the hole and will be getting my hair extensions redone somewhere else tomorrow. I am disgusted by this woman’s lack of professionalism and hope this review helps to prevent this from happening to anyone else. I am still hoping she will Venmo me back at least half of what I paid, as I don’t mind paying for her time at all but she actually threatened to charge me additional fees that she claims she never charged during my service once I asked for any sort of refund. BEWARE OF THIS SALON! Based on the response to my review (which was probably written by Ediane Rodrigues), I have attached some images and decided to provide additional information because this is just ridiculous. First image is a screenshot of my venmo payment to Ediane Rodrigues, who conveniently changed her profile image since I paid her. When I got to the salon I was told my total services would be $900 and that is the price that was agreed to, as I would never agree to any hair service for $4000. The other two photos are my extensions. The hair itself is nice, but it simply does not match my real hair and the way it was installed is very obvious and painful, hence why I asked to have them removed with a refund. When I called to make an appointment at Crawford Glam I was led believe it was actually Crawford Glam that I would be getting an appointment with and that I would be getting me extensions done by the "owner", Ediane, who was the only person I communicated with. However, when I got to the mall where the salon was supposed to be, Ediane called me and instructed me to come to "Phenix Salons" which are similar to Sola Salons in that there are many different rooms with independents stylists. The room had a carpet with the "Crawford Glam" logo on it and Ediane proudly discussed how she is the owner of Crawford Glam and that their permanent salon is under "temporary" construction. It felt sketchy to begin with, but I was desperate to get my hair done. Based on this awful and deceptive experience, Also, I discovered Ediane is not a licensed cosmetologist because apparently you do not need a license to do hair extensions so she has no legitimacy or license to her name. To anyone reading this, I hope you can see from my experience and just from the response to my review how sketchy this place is.
I am so incredibly happy I found Crawford Glam! I desperately needed a cut and color and was able to book a last-minute appointment. The transformation was amazing — my hair had so much life, volume, and softness, even though it’s older gray hair. I couldn’t imagine it feeling better! She is so kind, knowledgeable about hair care, and recommended the perfect products for me. I will absolutely be back!
Fariba did an amazing job! The salon took me in on a Monday (when most salons in the area are closed) on a same day appointment after an hour from when I called. I went from having hair half way down my back to collar length. It was a huge change but she made me feel comfortable. She even recommended a great color for toner color and did a beautiful styling job. The appointment took about 1.5 hours. Would highly recommend!
This salon is a big no! Not only did I get a full head of highlights when I asked for only lighter face framing ( less than partial highlights) but also got terrible damage from the bleach and the most hideous, patchy, blotchy highlights!!! After explaining that I just wanted to add a few fouls around my face and showed a picture, the stylist told me that I needed full highlights. I said again that I didn’t want bleach all over and she said that she needed to do it in “ some parts”. I’ve never had such a terrible experience. The salon staff tried to convince me that the stylist was super professional and had done an excellent job and that my hair was gorgeous. The owner asked if I had time to stay and add some low lights after I told her that I wanted my hair to stay darker but there was just no way I was going to let anyone there touch my hair again! They were super defensive. So I didn’t argue and decided that I was just gonna go and access the damage at home and hopefully get used to my hair being horrible. I was even willing to give them another try but honestly, every person who saw my hair had a very negative comment and wanted to know who the hell did that terrible job!! I was embarrassed to get out of the house. Thankfully I’ve found a great stylist who was able to correct my hair beautifully. I’ve posted some pics from the same day after I got home. If they consider this a great job, I can only imagine how a “ bad job” would look like at this salon! Please stay away from this place!! I also sent an email to them with the same pics and never heard back!
